actually do we have to go to first service by the first month or by 1k mileage or whichever comes first?
SA told me whichever comes first but the service book only mention 1k km and did not state the months where other regular services did state the months and km whichever comes first Also did you guys get free first service? some say if according to chassis number if you are the first 30k customer should get free first service but a lot of SA did not mention about it |

QUOTE(EBBattlefield @ Oct 7 2021, 12:39 PM) service by km due to wear and tear from mileage (ie. you are moving) thanks for the info service by time due to wear and tear due to idling (ie. stuck in traffic jam) other than that though, only servicing of lubricants and engine timing belt etc is necessary to run your car properly. others, mostly SC wanna earn money though they are mostly ok to go along with since it's something simple like changing aircon filter etc. not ask you to change wife btw, if you live in klang, dont go to jalan kebun 4S center. those idiots not only try to trick you into changing parts unnecessarily, up sale odd equipment, will also overcharge for noaml service go to glenmarie or the one next to KESAS highway so we don't have to go back to the SC where we have collected our car? not sure about the service quality of the 4S beside klang main road |

QUOTE(death_nite @ Oct 8 2021, 04:59 PM) I read the news when it was launch. and also not sure if the first 30k is according to booking slip or chassis numberIt said the first 30k book before 31st dec 2020 will received 5 times free labour services. But a bit confusing cos those received their car earlier got free service instead especially the first 1k service. 😅 Hv sent email to proton. Waiting for their reply. However from proton apps i only got 3 free labour service voucher. my SA also only told me I have 3 free labour service fee hope to hear from your update soon bc Proton sure receive alot of customer complaints.. tbh feel like the real thing here is not about the first service free or not, it's more about the integrity or trustworthiness of PROTON and our SA |

QUOTE(ycs @ Oct 8 2021, 08:23 PM) are you sure the mileage you get was set to 0 since last refuel? and how much did you fill last time? rmb to minus it with the remaining fuel you had when you refuel and use it to divide the mileage (correct me if im wrong im bad at calculations) that's quite a heavy right foot tho XD btw don't be too mindful on the fuel consumption because that'll prolly make you feel frustrated and you won't be changing your car anytime soon because of the fuel consumption right? just enjoy the ride~ unless the numbers went crazy then probably there's something wrong with the fuel system or sensor |

QUOTE(sanakim @ Oct 15 2021, 12:39 AM) Hi friends, same, almost went for Civic TCP (placed booking), but it was also a long queue so have to wait. Knowing that the 10th gen civic has been lying around for some time already, so prolly 11th gen will be rolling out soon. Finally got my car first week Oct after waiting since first week Nov last year. Overall, I give the X50 Flagship 9/10 realistically for the price and it was definitely worth the wait. To be clear, it's a best $/performance, not absolute performance or quality of life (see cons). Context: All in all ~11 months from LOU to delivery for Flagship Red. I had to change color from white to red else SA said may queue to next year. I needed the car urgently and worry no more SST rebate extension so I just took it. Anyway, fell in love with the Red color now. Previously driving Hyundai Elantra and I test drove all P1 + P2 models including Ativa and X70; Vios G, GRS, City V, RS Hybrid, 2021 and Civic TCP. Still went for X50 for best value for money. Here are my top 3 pros and cons: Pros: 1. 1.5TGDi + 7DCT combo is fantastic. Never short of torque under normal driving conditions; smooth take off with minimal turbo lag. Can use Sports Mode if you want more but prepared to make emergency brake 2. ICC system works well on Malaysian roads and stop-go ICC is a game changer. My friends say driving car is like playing console game now. No need to turn wheel or press foot pedals 3. Proton Link app is fantastic way to interact with your car; you only believe when you try remote engine start or unlock car with your phone! 4. 360 camera has dynamic lines and is quite functional, although not HD (unlike static lines in entry level Japanese cars) 5. Lynk & Co brakes really feel solid; never a moment of unsure braking. OTOH, ICC braking may be a bit sudden and jerky if not used to it Cons: 1. Ultra long wait time of ~1 year is really not practical for many buyers who need cars urgently. This is a national car, not a limited edition Tesla Roadster. 2. Loud 'clunk' whenever Auto Brake Hold takes over, either at traffic stop or when using Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) -> Can deactivate Auto Brake Hold to remove noise 3. Infotainment sucks 3a. No Apple Car Play. Period. Have to live with it unless you don't mind voiding warranty with third party sound system upgrades 3b. No way to turn off Hi Proton system; I don't mind it being a feature but please allow users right to turn off. It's a convenience feature, not a safety features 3c. GKUI 19 sucks; JOOX needs subscription, only can use QDlink else it's a waste of the 10.25" display Complaints from other forummers that I'm OK with: 1. Wind noise issue: Nah, it's non-issue for me especially when you have some music on 2. Sound system over bluetooth not great due to weak DAC or bluetooh codec, obvious crossover low/high amp profile causing non-linear amplification and distortions: however can solve by playing music through QDlink (I use iPhone). I think sound system is fantastic for the car segment and price 3. High petrol consumption: It's a >RM100k car tuned with high power/weight ratio; it is quite reasonable IMO 4. Turbo lag: whatchu talking about? I think the acceleration is top-tier for its price. Let me know if you have any questions on X50 itself or comparisons with similar price range cars. I almost went with Civic TCP but couldn't wait for 11th Gen and wanted to save the price difference for other life projects. I am very happy owner and look forward to driving it every day. Then MCO hit and news about x50 rolled out too, then decided to go for x50, no regrets another annoying thing is that if you want to use Waze/Google Maps instead of the built-in navigation via QDLink, you cannot turn off your phone display or else the 10.25" display wont show the map too. I saw a lot of people went for DSP (plug and play) and got beautiful sound out of the original speaker of x50, or you can simply try some EQ settings recommended by some other x50 owners (for free of course it still boils down to your budget and how great you want your music quality coming out from your car I agree with the point of having an option to turn off Hi Proton because sometimes you said something that sounds like 'Hi, Proton' then it came out to interrupt, I have told 'her' to shut up multiple times already |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Oct 17 2021, 04:08 AM) Hey guys, 30% VLT for the rear windscreen is it too dark when checking the mirror at night? I think 30% is fine, still can see unless you feel that your vision isn't that good at night. And how much VLT % for you guys' sunroof? I'm deciding between 30% and 50% VLT. During the day time I would like some light to enter the cabin but at the same time don't want it to be too hot. for the sunroof usually tinting shop will recommend very low VLT. I got mine for 5%, but still depends on the TSER value of the tint because the sunroof can easily allow heat to enter the car aside from the front windscreen |

QUOTE(sanakim @ Oct 17 2021, 12:28 PM) BTW, anyone notice cabin burnt smell if you enter Sports mode and tekan 99? I am using internal air circulation aircon. even not in sport mode I already smell it when I press the pedal a little harder coming out from toll booth, probably because car still quite newit's normal, but not advisable for you to tekan 99 your new car yet, need some mileage to break-in first, best to maintain under 3k rpm |

QUOTE(sanakim @ Oct 17 2021, 10:35 PM) Noted. Will take care a bit more and tekan less. Service booklet say till first 5,000km.. cannot wait so long weh hahaha wa, 5k km is too much tbh. the break-in period for new cars nowadays isn't as important as it is used to be, although it is still important.Page 118 of X50 manual: New Vehicle Running-in The running-in of new vehicle is mainly to improve the surface quality and the friction and wear state of moving parts, so as to extend service life and save fuel. The user should run in the new vehicle according to the following requirements. The running-in period of the new vehicle is 5,000 km. Pay attention to the following guidelines at the initial stage of vehicle operation: • Avoid depressing the accelerator pedal to the bottom during starting and running. • In the running-in period, the vehicle should be driven on flat roads, and driving on the muddy road or sand road should be avoided. • Avoid idling the engine. • Avoid harsh acceleration. • Avoid emergency braking in the first 300km of mileage. • Do not run at same vehicle speed (high or low) for long time. 2k km is enough already, or 2.5k for peace of mind. however, user manual is there for us to provide maximum care for the vehicle so that manufacturers can save cost by lowering the chance of changing parts under warranty. safest bet is 2.5k km, it is already sufficient for a new car's break-in/run-in period |

QUOTE(The 1 Coward @ Oct 20 2021, 05:02 PM) Does anyone knows how to set the LKS to Tactile as default setting? I've tried tactile before, the steering vibrates if it detects you leaving the lane without signal.. it doesn't feel great for me so i just turn LKS warning off. the warning sound is frustrating for me tooI am really irritated by the Audio warning ... you can change these settings in the 'Vehicle' menu in your instrument cluster |

QUOTE(EBBattlefield @ Oct 21 2021, 10:58 AM) the clips are general clips. hmm but the problem is the screw attached at the bottom somehow was sunken down so I wasn't able to screw the clip back, so its the base that has the problem, not the clip i guess just need to identify which one. |

QUOTE(contestchris @ Oct 26 2021, 03:15 PM) Okay. what brand is it? need to check if they will cover JPJ summon or not, if that is what you concernAnother thing, Proton panel tinting says their max VLT is 55%, however this is still considerably lower than JPJ 70% VLT regulation. How does that make sense? some brands offer coverage on summon for some of their tints that are below the JPJ VLT regulation. |

QUOTE(zero5177 @ Oct 26 2021, 10:51 PM) I'm from KL area so not decided on this yet, also due to the fact that Crystalline would not work with Smart Tag and don't like a small cut without tint/with different tint, I held back a little on this. 3M do have another series of tint that works well with smart tags, which is called the Ceramic IR, it has a blue-ish shade compared to Crystalline with a charcoal shadeTSER is quite good too but abit lower than Crystalline |
