I’m going over to my nearest Proton showroom to book one today
Just wondering when I book Flagship variant, does it mean I am going to stick to that until loan approved ? Or I can change my option to Premium later on if anything ?

i believe booking is dealer based. definitely not nationwide under same booking, that is very hard to manage. They send the car to dealership based on quota also. So if u go big dealer u might get ur car sooner, but big dealer means more booking in queue. So sometimes small dealer less booking then then easily next is ur queue already. This is what i knew from SA. Why queue not nationwide, because the people spread around the states, let say 1st booking is in KL, 2nd in penang, 3rd in sarawak, impossible they send only 1 car to this dealer then next dealer another car, then later send sarawak, like tat logistic nightmare and the logistics cost lol.

so when booking u go the dealer u ask them how many booking ahead lo. like tat easier gauge ur chance. if only 10 booking ahead then u can get ur car soon, if 100-200 queue already maybe u go other dealer faster lol. so best is if u have SA in proton.

SA informed that Flagship X50 is tentative at 103k.. before any discount or sales tax exemption

I dont know if i would go for the flagship even if its below 100k. The sunroof kind of worries me.

But the sunroof would be an extra maintenance. Like future leaking and so on. Its cool to open it I guess.

Yeah, I don't know why they had the sunroof option as probably I would say 9/10 people wouldn't use it. Don't know about the Philippines or China, but there's no market in Malaysia. They should already know from the x70 CKD. Rather they save the cost and pass down to consumers.

no ambient light, no paddle shifters, no windscreen usb socket,

103K...no ambient lighting....cheap camera....no dashcam....cheap speaker.....no paddle shift....no S sport spoiler.....

People pay over 100K for these options

My SA told me there are about 15k bookings already so there is a possibility of a lot of customers who wont be able to get the car by end of the year

Btw just sharing something I noticed is proton maintenance tends to be slightly more expensive than honda as they tend to recommend to change fluids/parts more frequently. Was trying to roughly figure out what's the maintenance cost for x50. Probably not a fair apple to apple comparison but would roughly give you an estimate I guess.
