I’m going over to my nearest Proton showroom to book one today smile.gif
Just wondering when I book Flagship variant, does it mean I am going to stick to that until loan approved ? Or I can change my option to Premium later on if anything ?
*
The SA I've contacted said just book your preferred variant first, but we are allowed to change later.

Expected queues & long waiting times. Some SA even took bookings since August

Can refer your SA to me ? I called proton hotline asking which showroom I can book X50, they tell me it’s closed today due to holiday and ask me to call again tomorrow 😂😂

Hold on, took booking since August ? I thought official announced no booking unless Proton make it official otherwise all scam ?
*
I PMed you

Some SA took the initiative to take bookings early however it is not recognised by Proton.

For these guys who booked earlier, the SAs just registered the bookings officially starting today

Keen to actually visit a showroom to see an actual unit but not too sure on where I can go. Is there any detail out yet regarding this?

I guess show unit will be available next month after official launch

is it comparable to CX-30?
*
CX-30 is basically an SUV version of the Mazda 3.

X50 should be directly compared with CX-3, which is an SUV version of the Mazda 2.

Baru la apple to apple comparison

Accompanied my sister to purchase this car. SA said waiting period is between 3 to 6 months.

Standard & Executive can get faster because majority booked premium or Flagship.

At that outlet alone in 2 days already got 120 confirmed purchased (approved loan or buy cash).

I was already in queue for Flagship back in September then.... I changed booking to premium the day after the price is announced but I only receive sms now omg
*
My sis received the sms from SA after she signed the HP loan agreement.

Initially booked the Premium, later changed to Executive after price announcement.

Dealers actually earn less if you buy cash (They lose out a few hundred bucks commission from the bank), so there is no incentive to let them cut queue if there is already a waiting list.

That guy who jumped queue probably paid undertable money to the dealer to jump queue, like when back in the Proton Wira days.
*
This is true. SA gets commission from banks for each HP loan signed.

For example. The SA for the recent car I've purchased. He got a RM600 commision from the bank for a RM40k HP loan deal.

Imagine closing at least 10 sales with loan of at least RM40k, per month.

That is already at least RM6k in extra commisions right there

before my SA tell me about the "optional" accessories, he said that my worst case scenario is that i will get the car in middle or end of december
i have signed the hire purchase agreement, now just waiting to pay for the downpayment (jet grey, premium)
*
Same as my sis. SA only said can get car within this year. Worst case scenario before CNY.

My Sis called her SA. Apparently she is no. 25 for X50 allocation from that dealership.

So far, the dealership already delivered 10 units of X50. 15 more to go.

Not sure if can get within this year, though.

You are missing my point. Why would you buy proton if you care so much about resale value ? They are not the brand that holds value at least since decades ago before X70 comes.

Even if X70 onwards creates different in Proton brand value, it will only apply on newer model like X50 but don’t you put up high hopes.
*
I agree. You won't be thinking of resale value when you purchase a Proton car.

Usually, you'd buy a Proton due to the value it gives to YOU.

For me, Proton cars usually gives me the best value (subjective to each individual) for the money spent.

Being a decently kitted, comfortable & a nice car to drive relatively to the price, are what I value most.

If not, better get a Perodua.

* Still waiting for that Executive X50 (T_T)

If you were to compare HRV and X50, you would need Flagship X50 to beat HRV because Flagship is the only variant have ‘enough’ features that outperform HRV.

So yea like you mentioned, it varies but in overall X50 (especially lower variant) won’t hold value as much as you expected.
*
Not really. Even Executive variant already can compete with HRV.

HRV does not even have Honda sensing. Only V spec have blind spot monitoring.

Guys, I have placed booking for X50 quite some time, don't frame me in to a Subaru fanboi, I am speaking from experience of having a Forester.

I'm just stating the fact that the car is better equipped compared to HRV which not much people aware including a better Dual Wishbone suspension setup.

I just can't take it when people keep arguing HRV is better than XV spec wise.

Besides that some of the points I am trying to bring up is when you are owning cars at X50 price range, maintenance price are expected to be high otherwise you are in the wrong thread if you keep talking about RV and that fraction of difference in maintenance. And lastly X50 is no where near cheap to be maintained as well.

In the end its your money, if you are comfortable and happy with what you get, there's nothing wrong with it.  thumbup.gif

I had attempt to bring back the topic back to X50 before this then there's just people who wanna argue about this again and again then comparing orange with apple.

I agree that this type of car (X50), maintenance wise would not be cheap. People need to embrace this fact & enjoy the ride

Personally I think is either Flagship or Exec

Standard too low

Premium a bit pointless unless u really fancy the LCD display, bigger rim and dual tone interior
*
I'm in the same mind.

That's why I chose the Exec for my sister

I am not in Labuan, but can I register to get Labuan's plate number that starts with LG XXXX ?? Who knows? Please advice.
http://jpj.my/JPJ_Latest_Number_Plates.htm
*
You should be able to register any state number plate from any JPJ office.

What's important is which area the road tax is registered to.

For example,

One of my cars is registered to Sabah number plate in Semenanjung Malaysia.

I bought the Sabah plate at Padang Jawa JPJ & register the car there.
