Anyone do PPF protective film mine to share your brand, price and where you install?

I find Magnus Pro film seems overpriced, cost even more than respraying the whole car  shocking.gif

I only set budget around <rm2k for ppf. Doesn't matter if it most expensive even, u need to take care of it, ie dont regularly put it under hot sun in order to prevent it from yellowish.

Else set money on repaint in future

The car does not seem to accelerate when the car infront moves during a traffic stop when I am on ICC? Any ideas?

Also how close must the key fob be with the car to unlock it wirelessly? Could be a safety concern..especially if someone knows you are nearby and wants to enter your car
*
I just tap the accelerator a bit and it moves. Not sure if it can move if you press buttons.

EDIT: Just tested in my car, you can get the ICC to resume at a full stop by pushing the RES/+ button as josh said

Please read manual page 111, key fob Intelligent Entry works within 1.5m range.

I did PPF on headlamp with 3M Scotchgard. Price range ~RM500 for headlamp alone. Full car I got quote ~Rm16k so can forget it hahah.

For coating, endless debate. Personally I wasn't convinced and ended up not getting coating and instead committed to wash every 2-3 weeks and wax every 6 months.

Agree on this when ppf cost too much it is sort of pointless already.

Just leant that PPF will turn yellowish if regularly parked under hot sun, I do have that doubt earlier but seems it was indeed a problem, guess I'll just leave it bare and only do tinting probably from Irispro or 3M crystalline

16k better forget about it, even minor accident hurt you even more than it should..

Agree that frequent wash or just a simple Wash & Wax solution should keep the car look decent for long.

3M crystalline working great for me smile.gif Let me know if you looking for authorized applicator in northern region.

Protip: maybe don't need 3M CR on sunroof; after ~1 week, I really don't see upside aside from peace of mind. Furthermore, sunroof tint not covered by 3M warranty. So next time, I probably will take the "building tint" on sunroof instead.

Yeah, I asked about PPF and was advised to do at: 1) headlamp, 2) door handles, 3) side mirror as those are the parts that typically get impacted. If you want to do front bonnet also can but whether it's worth is up to you.

I'm from KL area so not decided on this yet, also due to the fact that Crystalline would not work with Smart Tag and don't like a small cut without tint/with different tint, I held back a little on this.

BTW how long it takes from the date SA register your details with chasis number available until you get your car?

Can't guarantee for you in all KL tolls but when I tried smart tag at Penang 2nd bridge, it worked well. Anyhow, I got RFID to avoid any smart tag issue; also RFID costs RM25-35 vs RM150 for smart tag device LOL. Also with RFID, you can direct debit to TnG wallet instead of manual TnG card top-up. Just hope the toll has RFID lah.

For me, it was a few days (maybe 3-4 days)? After you get chassis number, you can pay the downpayment (for loan) then wait for car to reach showroom, then they do pre-delivery inspection (PDI) then they can give to you.

FYI, you can track the car from tanjong malim using proton link once you get chassis number and proton link activated.

I am using crytalline without small cut. It can work but got trick. Hv to move really slow almost to the stop. My case it will show no smart tag then after that ok already.

But best solution use rfid lah. Hopefully plus highway can implement it asap to all entry/exit point.

I actually wanted to get my own ceramic/graphene spray waxes and do it regularly but since my car is white and after reading how it will turn yellow no matter what, I decided to give it a ceramic coating (way more concentrated than spray waxes) to prolong the white colour.

Currently, there are hardly any products in the market that offer good uv protection. Ceramic coating is the best and most accessible option here so I went with it.

Too bad RFID not widely available KL yet, we get like only 1 RFID lane vs 3 Smart Tag lane for same toll booth and very often RFID lane is having longer queue than TnG.. Although RFID is the future, that being said like more than 3 years ago but I don't see any obvious transition sad.gif

A quick check where was the most ideal location for RFID sticker? Headlamp or Windscreen? Last time when I install on my car they tested windscreen not suitable because of tinted, wondering would Crystalline or any tinted will have that problem or not and end up install on headlamp hmm.gif

3M do have another series of tint that works well with smart tags, which is called the Ceramic IR, it has a blue-ish shade compared to Crystalline with a charcoal shade
TSER is quite good too but abit lower than Crystalline

I've got different experience. I find RFID lane shorter queue & fast to clear than Smart Tag & TnGo lanes. Love the convenience of auto top up & e-wallet gaining more acceptability with business retailers, wet markets, etc.

Only highways with close toll systems belum implement RFID, namely PLUS & LPT. LEKAS closed system already implemented RFID

Mine is stuck on headlight. Now I want to polish my headlight but wondering how to retain the RFID tag. Put tape over it cukup? hmm.gif

or you can just open the window and stick your smart tag out for best chance to pass the toll in one go XD

Yeah notice that as well but the TSER and IRR seems a bit below par for its price, but of course this is 3M yo

My toll usage mostly at LDP most of them RFID got long queue sweat.gif
My TnG card is also linked to tng e-wallet with paydirect, as long the toll support paydirect it will deduct from e-wallet instead of card icon_rolleyes.gif

That's the problem on headlight installation.. if not mistaken once sticker removed from headlight it is either not usable anymore or not sticky anymore, that's my previous experience with RFID tag on headlamp, warranty change headlamp but sticker can't carry over..

Not to say Windscreen will be safer, if say one day windscreen crack you will also face same problem rclxub.gif

On the bright side the sticker not too expensive la

I just got graphene coating for my white car tho, heard that it is somehow better than ceramic coatings with similar price so i gave it a try. The warranty was given by Cerakote Malaysia instead of any respective detailing shop, so even if the shop went out of business you can still contact Cerakote to arrange you to other certified shop for warranty/maintenance (at least this is what they stated), compared to the usual ceramic coating which warranty is given by the shop itself unless you went to reputable shops but usually the price is quite high..

My cars semua put on headlamp. Read in fb those rfid pilot user said windscreen slow detection since if install at headlamp the sensor can pickup earlier due to the location itself.

I am lucky I guess? Mine hv shorter rfid q and some frequent rfid hv dedicated lane.

I really love my 3M crystalline. Park under hot blazing sun inside still not that hot and when turn on aircond sekejap sudah sejuk.
