Thinking alliance bank.

Grab very bullshit la reducing from 5x to 1x for e-wallet topup. That's a big difference. April will be busy with puasa/raya month, so most likely i will cancel this Grab card on May.

Is there any way to transfer my maybank grab cc points to other maybank cc?
*
i am thinking the same, jump boat to alliance, but anybody have tried the x8 Ecom transaction is valid for MYTNB payment? in mbb statement, it does show ECOM

Just go ahead apply any MBB credit card online. Once approve then you cancel the Grab card.

When are they going to launch their Digibank?
Well don't forget there are other 4 digibank licenses competing with each other. Unless Grab manages to convince big organisations to bank in their salaries there monthly. Then they will have a lot of capital to play around.

more likely they may operate like a fintech, probably offering prepaid/debit card that linked to digital account (to store fund)

Can I clarify why you all getting CIMB card as a replacement for the Maybank Grab Card, when the cashback percentage is the same or just slightly better?
CIMB eCard percentage is slightly better but that bonus points have capped at 20k
Please correct my calculation if I'm wrong

20,000 Bonus Point (BP) can redeem RM 50 Cashback

CIMB Travel World Elite (TWE) (No Points Cap)
user posted image

RM 1 = 10 BP
20,000 BP = RM 2000 x 10 BP
RM 50 Cashback / RM 2000 Spending = 2.5% Cashback

CIMB eCard(20,000 BP cap)
user posted image

eDay Spend (one day only on 28th) : RM 1 = 12 BP
20,000 BP = RM 1666.67 x 12 BP
RM 50 Cashback / RM 1666.67 Spending = 3% Cashback

Normal Day : RM 1 = 3 BP
20,000 BP = RM 6666.67 x 3 BP
RM 50 Cashback / RM 6666.67 Spending = 0.75% Cashback

============================================================================

Assuming if Grab Unlimited and Platinum user
5000 Points = RM 50 Cashback

Maybank Grab Card (No Points Cap)
user posted image

Top Up RM 1 into wallet = 1 Points
Spend that same RM 1 using GrabPay = 1.5 points
Effectively 2.5 points

5000 points = RM 2000 x 2.5 points
RM 50 Cashback / RM 2000 Spending = 2.5% Cashback

Thank you for your calculations. After some calculations, I do find that this CC is still quite competitive compared to the others.
Assuming that I want to use Grab ecosystem, it's definitely amazing.

However moving forward, i might be using more TnG card, if only I am allowed in some ways to transfer my money to TnG via Grab, that would be amazing. Cause the CC doesn't give points for other e-wallet reload. ohmy.gif I am looking into CIMB travel card actually, but the annual fee is annoying unless I take the Platinum one only.

For now I am still keeping the card, but I am on the lookout for others as well as I wanna cancel my AEON platinum card.

Thanks for the calculation.

Hmm, I suppose because I don't use Grabpay exclusively.

Meaning with previous 5 times points, I can accumulate my points fast.

But with the reduced points, I would need longer time.

However, with Cimb ecard, I can distribute between Grab and Tngo ewallet top up, as well as other ways to get points.

Does that make sense?

Ya true, the Maybank grab card still competitive if one uses the Grab environment exclusively
But if want to mix and matched , then have to use other card to complement.

Personally will be using Maybank ikhwan amex + PB visa islamic card as have higher cashback and suit my common expenditures icon_idea.gif

If u use cimb ecard to reload grabpay on 28th of d month n use grabpay as a gradunlimited user, in total u can get 2.5+1.5=4%.

The fact is now Grab card only provide 1x points.

That's 1% cashback only.

Compare that with PB card or Affin card that can provide 3-4% of nett cashback.
