then i will kena exchange bank rate dy right

As long as you use Malaysian credit card with zero FX markup like OCBC 365 or HLB I'm card then no FX charge from bank.

But wise will impose some admin charge. I recently topped up SGD200 with MY credit card, got charged SGD7.74. So about 3.87% admin charge by wise.

Has anyone used Wise to send funds to your friends/family overseas recently? I need to make a transfer (RM4k) to the Philippines, but looking at replies on Wise's recent tweets has me worried. People are complaining that their recepient isn't receiving the money, accusing Wise of theft, not responding to issues, etc. I see that Wise is one of the best rates, unless fellow forumers have other suggestions? I have also not used BigPay for remittance, any pros and cons?

Was wondering how some people can add Wise Card to Google Pay.

https://wise.com/help/articles/2977965/how-...with-google-pay

Can I add my Wise card to Google Pay?
At the moment, you can add your card to Google Pay if your address is in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guernsey, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US.

hi all,
I have performed more than 5 times payment via insert card & PIN.
But my Wise contactless payment (aka payWave) still totally unable to use on any machine in Malaysia.
This is very inconvenient.

I have checked my payment method setting in Wise app, all payment method turned on already.

Any idea why? Any one manage to use contactless payment (payWave) in Malayisa?
Maybe I know which shop? so that I can go try it.

Try 3 Damansara parking. Take the parking card at entry then pay at the kiosk with Wise card before exit.

Last place I could think of which I managed to use contactless.

Not so much FX charge, as much as credit card cash advance because you're taking cash out of your credit card in a way. I put RM400 into a foreign currency account in Wise and was only charged less than RM3.

Holding limits

In Malaysia, Wise personal customers can hold a maximum of 20,000 MYR in their Wise accounts at any time⁷. This limit applies to the sum of all currencies held.

If you’ve sent a payment of more than 20,000 - or if you’ve sent a payment which pushes your total balance above this limit - you’ll need to withdraw the excess to your bank account.

You’ll be notified if your account hits this limit, and will have 7 days to withdraw the excess funds to your external account. After this time, your Wise account will be automatically frozen until you’re able to withdraw the funds, to comply with Malaysian laws.

Hi guys, between BigPay & Wise Card, which offers the better exchange rates for MYR to USD payments?

Specifically within the RM2k to RM9k range if that helps.

Does anyone have any experience/findings between the two?

You can check this online or via app.

Unless you have USD preloaded into your Wise card, both cards apply the Visa exchange rate when you swipe overseas as it works as a Visa debit card. Both cards will also charge additional fees. Check their site for details.

Thanks!

Wise card is pretty straightforward as they have an estimator tool online to show you the real-time transparent rate & fees (https://wise.com/my/pricing/card-fees?targetAmount=910&sourceCcy=MYR&targetCcy=USD).

BigPay on the other hand has no such tool, so can only find out the final charged amount after the transaction has been done.

Wanted to see if anyone has reached a conclusion on which is the better option (MYR to USD rate-wise) after using them, any findings would be appreciated!! biggrin.gif
