I thought Fave no longer accept AMEX.

Is the name of the app misspelled? Or an oversight from someone in the petroleum company? I would have expected it to be called 'settle'

the 10% (new user) cashback promo is tracked on your PURCHASE of petrol from Setel app. the campaign tabulates your spending.

[vouchers] -> [Setel App] -> [Purchase fuel] <- 10% cashback (new user)

this 10% promo has been running since 2018 when they introduced their app in Klang Valley. they kept extending it.

So the 10% cashback only applicable for top up via Online Banking/CC, but not for Voucher top up.
Is that correct?

i find that swiping the physical credit card at the fuel pump is still FASTER than using Setel app.

I see the improvement from their first launch till now.
The app is faster when authorising fuel purchase, faster than using card. However the down side is you wont entitle any fuel category cashback when used credit card and all maybank cards no cashback.

I query before to their customer service, the app nature is ewallet which none of the maybank cards will entitle.
Good to know they working on the eligibility of petrol category.

time to test your usual petrol card and see if it gets cashback.

if not, then the bank depends on specific petrol brand name, e.g. PETRONAS, rather than MCC.

Seasonal. Use SC JOP or other CC (eg PB's campaign) to top up lah.
Not many stations in Kuching are Setel-ready. I am still using Petronas Giftcard sourced from Shopee.

Petra jaya both petronas accept setel. So for me very convenient as i stay there. Noted on the CC.

I registered Setel using a referral code from a sifu here.
Then I reloaded rm30 using JOP n 1st pump rm30 petrol to qualify for rm5 for using the referral code.
Will reload another rm120 then pump 2 more times probably rm60+rm60 to get 10% CB of rm15.
Should get 15% for using JOP to reload, another rm22.50.
All in all should get 5+15+22.50 cb (~28%) for pumping rm150 petrol using Setel.
After that if I can't use up the rm200/month for jop will reload into Setel the balance.

No Wonder i did not get Cashback on 1st transaction. Not MCo seldom go out, petrol still full tank

Actual happening:
1. Register Setel using Referral code.
2. Reload rm30 using JOP (confirmed getting 15% cb).
3. Pump rm30 petrol, straight away get rm referral CB, must pump at least rm30.
4. Reload rm25 using JOP.
5. Pump rm30 petrol, each pump must be at least rm30 (3x) to qualify for 10% cb from Setel.
6. Reload rm30 using JOP.
7. Pump rm30 petrol, can actually pump another rm90 (30+30+90) since max cb of 10% from Setel is rm15.
8. Got the Setel cb of 10%, rm9 immediately after 3rd pump.

In total I reload rm85 using JOP(12.75 cb), Pumped rm90 petrol and I got rm5+rm9+rm12.75=26.75 cb.

Next month I would register another Setel acc for my spouse but would straight away reload rm200 using JOP in step 2, n skip 4 & 6.

Anyone has used the same JOP card on 2 diff Setel account?

Just refueled another RM30 = 24 liter with Petronas Setel.
Got 108 mesra points which is > 3X amount of points.
Not sure whether the new changes of 1 liter = 1 point already kicked in or not.
Or the bonus point really is that much now.

Finished my 3rd fueling with cash back on Setel for new user.
1. Bought RM20 voucher at RM13 from Shopee (1st time user, need enter code as referral).
2. Combo the same transaction as above, another RM20 voucher at RM16 at Shopee.
3. 1st refuel RM30, get cashback RM3. Get mesra point 83.
2. 2nd refuel RM30, get cashback RM3. Get mesra point 104.
3. 3rd refuel RM30, get cashback RM3 + another RM3 (extended cashback). Get mesra point 108.

Not bad for new user. Guess coming raya sale at shopee will have the same promo again.
And the more you use, your level will increase and you will earn more mesra point bonus.

Weird app. Just installed it & couldn't add any card with error "invalid parameters (invalid user email)". Granted I have special character in my email address but I had no problem receiving verification email from Setel.

CS said to try again a few days later because it might be caused by the current ongoing update.

By taking "650 pts redeem RM5 mobile credit" as example, the effective reward rate of 3X Grab points = 2.3% cashback. Not bad though.

But I will use HLB WISE card to earn 8% cashback from petrol pump (on weekends only) .

Guess is not effective yet.

Yes but depends on individual stations.
If it accepts Boost, WeChat Pay and TnG e-wallet, it should be able to accept GrabPay too.
