2. Speaking bout the Xbox one x. This is only twice as powerful as the Xbox one X. The jump to Xbox-sx is literally way lesser when compared to the XboxOne to XboxoneX.

The naming is really bad. This gives the flashback of Wii and Wii U naming. Normal people would think it's just another upgrade and not the next gen.

I guess this is beast spec. Why make it big, it could be the cpu and gpu is so powerful.

Bear in mind, Microsoft recent spending spree for buying studios for great blockbuster exclusive games eitj 15 studios and one grade 3AAA called The intiative still secretly build game.

It's year end holiday sales period, where traditionally Nintendo is the king of sales there, also there aren't any major PS4 games releases around that period as well

MS already forsaken Asia Xbox market, period.
and Sony's PlayStation still will be sales chart champ in Asia, period.

In general I don't really care for console sales, but I feel that MS has given up on getting better exclusives and 3rd party Japanese games during the Xbox One era. At the start of the generation it wasn't too bad. For example, we still got Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend in 2014, but after that, Arc System Works more or less abandoned Xbox. We didn't get any Guilty Gear games, despite the old Guilty Gear X games appearing on the OG Xbox. Fortunately we did get Dragonball Fighter Z, but it was only because the publisher is Bandai Namco. Same goes for the other publishers too. No King of Fighters. No Street Fighter.

My hope for the Xbox Series X, is at least to have better first party games. It's refreshing that MS invested in getting first party studios onboard, so that's a start. The situation with Japanese developers, I'm not too sure. SEGA more or less puts out their best works on PlayStation these days, and I don't see that changing soon. I would have loved to play the new Sakura Taisen game on Xbox! Ah well. That's why I have a PS4 too. For the exclusives.

Having options is good my friend. Despite its relative unpopularity in Asia, Xbox has always done interesting things in the console space, whether people want to believe it or not. The first Xbox was the first console to ship with a built in hard drive as standard. It was also the first console to output Dolby Digital 5.1 sound for gameplay. PS2 did have DD5.1 support too, but only for DVD playback. Xbox Live also lead the way for online console gaming.

The Xbox 360 was the first console to ship with wireless controllers as a standard. Although Nintendo did come out with the first-party Wavebird controller on the Gamecube, it wasn't standard yet. You had to buy the Wavebird separately from the console. The Wavebird didn't have rumble support though.

The Xbox One S/X was the first console that can output Dolby Atmos. Specific to the One X, it's also the only console in this generation that can render gameplay in native 4K. The PS4 uses checkerboard rendering, not native 4K. Also, it's the only console in this generation that can play 4K Bluray. Granted, 4K Bluray is somewhat of a failure, since people prefer streaming these days, but the option is there. If nothing else, the expanded storage of 4K Bluray is already the new standard bearer, as both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will use it too.

Microsoft improved a lot since the original Xbox One release. I'm sure the Xbox Series X will be an impressive console too. That doesn't take away that Sony will also have an impressive console with the PlayStation 5. I am going to get both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, so I'll be covered on both sides. Xbox for some exclusives and 3rd party games, and PS5 for the Sony exclusives.

no matter how good xbox console is as long they dont support malaysia country as their official release then is no good for me.

As mentioned by some online sites, Microsoft is being quite bold for the next Xbox. They were the first to announce the console, and now they even announced what the Series X can do. On paper it's supposed to be more powerful than a Geforce RTX2080 Super. That's crazy. I'm not too sold on the hardware ray tracing capability though. Even on PC ray tracing is very resource intensive. I really want to see a real time ray tracing demonstration on real hardware though. Then only we'll know how powerful the Series X is.

Microsoft just shared the Xbox Series X full specs earlier today, and it looks like a lot of the information we know so far have been accurate. Hardware accelerated DirectX raytracing is in, high refresh rate output up to 120fps, variable refresh rate support. It's all here. The quick resume feature now supports multiple games, not just a single game, like how it is currently on Xbox One. Games like Gears 5 will even be improved when run on the Series X! I'm really loving what Microsoft has come up with. Now I just need to know the selling price for this thing.

the Ram could be more imo, maybe 20GB. 16-17GB for gaming while 3-4GB for OS.. sked it be another 2013 consoles where 8GB is more then enough for gaming. but 3 & 4 years later both console manufacturers still add more ram. the console should last for another 5-7 years without needing a mid gen upgrade

I reaaaally hope we don't have a mid-gen upgrade this round. I don't mind bigger SSD sizes or game bundles, but not a newer version of the hardware. I did cave in and buy an Xbox One X though, mainly because I want to take advantage of the One X Enhanced games along with overall better performance compared to the OG Xbox One. The problem with making games more ambitious is that the target performance will also be moved. Remember when Xbox One games ran at 900p while PS4 games ran at 1080p? These days, there are games (like Soul Calibur VI) that only run at 900p on OG PS4, and 1080p on PS4 Pro. The console is still the same, but the system requirement is now higher compared to the early days before the enhanced consoles came out. Kinda like PC then!

Maybe because we prefer different genre such as third person shooter, racing and fps? As far as I can see Sony gave up on racing and fps this gen.

Get Game Pass Ultimate! It's seriously one of the best values that videogames have right now. I know some people doubt whether the games are good, but new games are added all the time. New ones too. I already bought Streets Of Rage 4 on Steam, not knowing that it also hit Gamepass the same time it was released on Steam. Blazing Chrome was also added when it was newly launched. All of the Kingdom Hearts games are also on Gamepass right now. I barely have time to play anything else, just the games on Gamepass are enough to keep me happy.

GH selling Xbox again? Just earlier in July or August I was at the Sunway store to buy Ghost of Tsushima, and I just asked one of the guys there if they would be bringing in the Xbox Series X. The guy said no, they have no plan to bring in Series X because Xbox don't sell.

Not sure about the Series X, but the Xbox One S and X use a universal power supply. You can use it with Japan and also UK power supply (110-240V). If they use the same design then we can use it for sure. Anyhow, we use the same power as the UK. Even if the power supply on the Series X isn't universal, you can safely use any electrical / electronic device from the UK. Same as Australia too.

I always bought my Xbox One X games when Amazon did massive discounts on their site. Can't rely that much on local shops as sometimes once sold out they won't carry the games anymore.
Still generally more expensive than local PS counterparts.

At the original USD299 pricing it's quite attractive. But the SGD pricing is actually higher than that. So now it looks somewhat expensive. Still, I was always going to go for the higher end version either way.

I'm going to get the Series S. The price difference isn't much to be honest, but I game so casually and infrequently these days that I can't really justify getting the Series X. Especially since I have no use for the optical drive and will just be fully digital through Game Pass

Want to see what this generation can offer; so will be getting the Series X. Hoping that besides the typical COD/Fifa type games, that next gen will have some interesting games similar to Quantum Break.

Most modern games tend to be "me too" when it comes to new gameplay ideas. After Halo came out, 1st person shooters stopped having health bars and switched to regenerating health. And a 2 weapon carry limit.

Then after Gears of War came out, cover based shooters became popular.

Original ideas are very hard to find these days. Remedy seems to be one of the few developers that always try to introduce new gameplay gimmicks. But they still stick to making 3rd person shooter games, so it's not completely alien.

Look like they just came out with their new game, Control. Looks awesome. Hoping for more interesting games like that.

Rumour has it MS are buying SEGA and announcing at the TGS... I'll be looking at getting the series x. Probably will miss the 1st batch but i can wait. Of the launch titles Yakuza - like a dragon interests me the most and that's on the one and on gamepass.

I'm actually really grateful having stayed with xbox for the last generation as it's pretty cool that i'll have games from 4 xbox generations ready to play.

SEA just isn't a big market for Microsoft and it makes sense for them to reserve the bulk of their stock for US/UK. I think they're dealing with supply constraints too. I was on Amazon US the second they opened up preorders and the X sold out in under 30 seconds, which is insane considering that's their strongest market.

The Series S was available for quite some time though. I guess people don't want a gimped console lol.

I have to say that out of all the next gen consoles, the series s is the cleanest looking one. Love the minimalistic design.

And given its price its very attractive to newcomers and casual gamers who just want to fire up their consoles every now and then

Yeah the Series S + game pass is an insane value proposition, even more so if you live in the West and can get their All Access program.

The Series S would be the perfect console if only the built in SSD is bigger. Still, at least we can buy the external SSD they will be selling.

Microsoft doesn't officially recognize Malaysia - so there is no official units sold here. Most of the units sold here are from Microsoft Singapore.

I was hoping for the series x to hit 4k 60fps for current(Xone) gen games.
It did, though for the more demanding games there are still some drops. Way better than one x though, that’s for sure.

What games were you looking forward to see at 4k 60fps? I think a few of the reviewers mention sekiro only hitting 59 but that's still a big improvement from right now..

Quite tough to have a stable fps with RT on, so far only a handful of games are able to achieve that.

what he meant was the Xbox units sold are not recognize by MS, because they are grey import from Singapore. Hence the sales figure goes towards MS SG.

There is a high chances that XBL will never officially launch in Malaysia, due to the above or they see SG as a hub to supply SEA region.

Nintendo Switch shares the similar issue where MY eShop doesnt exist, most players set to US region and we dont hear people being afraid or complaining.

Dolby Atmos is actually just software support built into the device. There's no such thing as a headphone with Dolby Atmos hardware in the first place.

You can buy 'Dolby Atmos for headphones' app in the Microsoft store. I've bought it personally, so I know it's actually worth it. You just put on any normal wired headphones to the Xbox controller, select Dolby Atmos for Headphones and you're good to go. Of course a good pair of headphones will give better results.
