Ibkr is worth the switch just for the low interest rates and margin.

I have a portfolio margin with a maintenance margin of circa 18%. Mighty useful and it's where i draw for emergency or when opportunities pop up.

You can read the first few page of this thread or see Ziet Invests youtube videos (just saw his comments and found his youtube).

Most people here including me use Singapore bank account to deposit:
Sign up CIMB Malaysia => Sign up CIMB SG => Transfer money from CIMB MY account to CIMB SG account => Deposit SGD to IBKR account => wait few hours/business days to see the money in your IBKR account => Convert SGD to USD in your IBKR account

Withdrawal same thing just reverse the flow: Sell your stocks => convert to SGD in IBKR account => withdraw to your CIMB SG account and wait (forgot how long I think few hours to few business days)

Whole process can be online.

Just skip step 1 and ignore everything about tradestation global. Chapter 2 has funding examples through different method directly into IBKR account.

Has anyone tried using HSBC to receive foreign currencies (USD, EUR, GBP etc)???

What type of account do you have and does HSBC charge any fees for receiving incoming foreign currencies?

I have HSBC Everyday Global account and tried it when I was withdrawing about USD313.2 from eToro.
Receiving or sending out will cost at least USD 4 per transaction (plus any intermediary bank fees up to USD6++).

Alternatively once you have received the USD, can convert into MYR HSBC account using HSBC rate (which is typical banks rate)

Either way its a losing end 🥲 so I sent it straight into IBKR account back then.

I emailed Christian from TSG to ask about switching to IBKR and he told me no more minimum funding at TSG too. He also asked me what to do to retain me as customer.

So I told him to reduce commissions to same level as IBKR, then I might stay. Waiting for his reply.

Yes to both questions. I raised a ticket to TSG and received the form via email. Replied the email with the filled form and ID. Then sent the same files to IBKR to the email address stated in the form. Now I'm just waiting. If I'm not mistaken and I didn't look into it much, account de-linking takes place on Fridays 2pm EST.
