Any good antenna can be use with unifi air modem? Dunno why weeks before MCO my upload speed drop from 5Mbps to just barely 0.3Mbps. Can't upload shit sweat.gif

Before this I can easily upload to my youtube channel. 1GB file only took me about 45-60 min to complete. Now it took a whole day. Download speed still maintain 20-40Mbps even during MCO.

One suggestion is to check the signal (not the bars) reception value, RSRP and if possible , to see what band its connected to.
Anything below -90dbm (higher number means weak signal) such as -110dbm, means your modem reception with the station is weak.

Changing modem location in the house, might help switching to another BTS (Base Transceiver Station).

Thanks for the tips. Will try it out tonight. Damn frustrated bcoz it only works great for a few month after I got the modem. Was stuck with Streamyx 1MB since 2008 till now with no option to upgrade to Unifi. sweat.gif

I’m having the exactly same problem like yours. Daytime was ok for me. About 7.30pm and above nightmare speed appear. About 0.3mbps, how to use ☹️ Was searching booster but I’m not good in these stuff. Only knew there are band 40.

Dear kvn4000,
Nothing got to do with your signal.
Its because your modem is connected to a base transceiver station, which is connected and shared with estimated 10-20 users.

Furthermore  now its MCO period, Muyideen cakap tolong duduk rumah diam diam.
Then everyone sits at home, diam diam, use their internet, just as you also.
So this is where the Base Transceiver Station is congested with 20 other users around your area, usually a radius of few KM.

So, no, booster wont help. Even you sit next to the station, wont help.
Another advice? Change DNS. that will help abit. but not drastically.

Hi friend, thank you very much. At least I learn something. Guess I’ll need to learn how to change dns😅

So Unifi Air's modem is not geo-locked? But I guess it's relatively bulky to move around?

actually is limited signal tower, instead of lock u mention.
move to a place without coverage, it wont connect.

Unifi air change dns? Be warn its slow because tm cannot service the tower during mco but now getting better. Band 40 doesnt means faster but can improve if using the right modem such as huawei or tplink but best find modem can support band 5, 38 & 40 altogether so it can alternate using the best wave.

Just don't buy the 4GLte brand, the shaped like a book claiming 88dbi. It only works as extender in outdoor. Get the shark fin shape one from Huawei which I'm planning to try it out.

Ensure the connector given is TS9 for B618 since there is no description mentioning about it. Only works when you are in high rise and balcony is facing the tower.

How you guys unifi air bandwidth load balancing between device?
I noticed mine is unbalanced, for example 1 device is uploading whatsapp backup via wifi then all other devices will experience slow/unusable internet even for laptop which is connected direcly via LAN.

my router is b525.

Is it possible to register for Unifi Air at TM outlet now?

Also can I just get the sim and use my own huawei modem? Not really keen on the 2year contract.

Do I need to use repeater? Or just direct connect from this antenna using normal coaxial cable with ts9 converter?

Yes, direct connect only. Can see whether it is connected properly through the router's interface as by default it is set to auto.
