the first amendment didnt come out like what ive requested in the first place. once the 2nd drawings came out, they said the designer resigned. two months no update whatsoever. then came in the second designer, have to explain all over again. 3rd drawings came out he visited my house for measurements. then 4th drawings came out he didnt include a number of things ie led lighthing, power plug socket rearrangement, wirings for tv panel and on. end up have to explain to factory workers when they came for 2nd measurements. now the waiting game continues. the factory guys said they will install by end of Dec this year. dont know to trust that promise or not. I felt betrayed anyway.

so you waited over a year with an empty kitchen?

Hi sifus and all,

I dunno where to go. Was thinking to go to the police station but dont think it is a big case (yet?) to lodge a report. Anyone having trouble with Wooot Carpenter? or Woot Carpenter... Seems like they keep delaying the installation of my kitchen cabinet despite Ive already paid 50% deposit  sad.gif

It has been almost a year now and these guys took days and sometimes months to even reply my message or update me on the status. If anything they blame the pandemic and PKP. Sometimes if I request for lets say A B C D, they seem to purposely left out C and D so that they and I need to revisit the drawings and have to discuss again and keep delaying again.  cry.gif

And also looks like I have to deal with too many different people. Marketing one, drawing one and production one. An info shared with one of them sometimes would unlikely be shared among them. I have to tell again and again to different people. Is this normal? I mean do other companies do this too: having different people for different stuff?  rclxub.gif

My questions:
1. What should i do?
2. Is it worth it to do a police report? Seem like a big company and Im just like a small thing to them
*
Instead of police report, why don’t you go to tribunal instead?

To be honest, their service is pretty crap. It took them weeks to respond to my quotation enquiry last time, and the people they hire seems lacking of basic knowledge of kitchen cabinet design (in my case, they can’t even differentiate island & peninsular). It was a red flag since the beginning and I didn’t bother to further discuss with them after they keep showing their incompetency.

Anyone got contact for small job, to cut existing quartz top to fit new Hob. Plan to change brand of hob, but current hole size is slightly smaller.

Can I use diamond tip drill to self cut the hole?

Maybe can try ask quotation from Bespoke Kitchen. I have chosen them over other 5 vendors (Welco/Legend/Unity etc) due to cost & good reviews. But due to MCO, yet to install, so I can't share my personal review yet

hey bro. have you have it built yet?

Boss, pvc =/= foam. PVC is not very flammable but foam may be fire hazard. Pls check accordingly.

Anybody ever experienced with Apresi Aluminium?

Went there and they quoted me aluminium carcass kitchen cabinet with Quartz tabletop as follow:

L shape(7.5 feet x 10 feet)
6.3k
Additional 10.3k for wall cabinet.

I Shape (10 feet)
10.5k
Additional 6.5k for wall cabinet

Island (6 feet x 2.5 feet)
7.4k

Wondering whether those price are reasonable?

Hi, has anyone installed this type of semi-open kitchen before? Any pros and cons?

Where to source the materials i.e., glass door and window? Can the kitchen cabinet maker install the door and window or I need to hire another contractor to do it?

Thanks.

you can either ask a main contractor to do all for you or ask kitchen supplier and aluminum window supplier do for you separately.

Yet if you are heavy cooker, I still think it is not a good idea to do this at the supposedly dry kitchen area, as the only cooker hood will not enough to suck all smoke out while you are cooking.

Practically still better do a proper wet kitchen at yard area as there are windows and you can do additional exhausted fan on the wall to suck out the cooking smokes.

Hi Sifus,

Managed to read all 39 pages in this thread and got alot of answers for quesrions i had. Thanks!

Im in the midst of renovating my house before moving in and had some additional questions/queries.
1. I can see its like very rare for ppl to use concrete top plus quartz/stone on top for wet kitchen. Only noticed points on thickness, any other reason or disadvantages doing so?
2. Anyone used sintered stone for their wet kitchen? Is it the same as porcelain? Looked up nex stone supplier selling them at reasonable price. Is sintered stone better than quartz? Plan to use stone for wet kitchen and dry kitchen.
3. How does blockboard fare compared to plywood? I was informed that plywood cant be used for very long cabinets as may sag and blockboard is better.. Not sure.
