Hi everyone. I have a ddpai z40 dashcam and bought it around August of 2022. Recently notice the dashcam keep asking to connect to update time. Is it software or firmware issue?

QUOTE(Cavino @ Jun 20 2025, 03:50 PM) OBD hardware is really a plug and play. However OBD port is also used by technician to access car system for diagnosis. In terms of easy to install hardwire, this is the one. Just plug in and it can work. The cabling still require to slip behind dashboard, etc but no kacau other electrical wires. I recently got a CRV RS hybrid.Any hardwire, be it the plug and play OBD or Fusekit hardwire can potentially void car electrical or electronic warranty if any issue arises and you got caught with it. No actual case yet tho, I think. Many 3rd party devices that require readings from car such as performance monitoring tools for temperature, engine speed, etc used this port. For myself, I have been using OBD hardwired DDPAi dashcams for my older cars (after warranty). So far no issue. For car under warranty, too many electronics, I takut, so I installed car manufacturer official celup but expensive dashcam. Before this , i installed DDPAI X5 Pro with hardwire for parking monitoring on my 7 year old Honda city hybrid idcd. But warranty is over so I dared to pasang hardwire. So to avoid voiding the first 5 years warranty, I'm thinking of getting a BlackVue DR970X-2CH Plus 4K UHD Cloud Dash Cam [NEW 2024] + Blackvue B-130A Black Power magic external battery pack. Blackvue DR970X-2CH 4k So, the connection will be like this: Dashcam -> Battery pack -> Cigarette power port This won't void the car warranty yes? I really need that offline parking monitoring. no need online 4G monitoring as battery would be drained a lot |

That is the purpose of 12V port with a separate fuse for external non heavy duty connection. At most pay for the fuse if burnt. Before this , i installed DDPAI X5 Pro with hardwire for parking monitoring on my 7 year old Honda city hybrid idcd. QUOTE(alfredhow78 @ Jul 18 2025, 11:31 AM) ![]() ![]() Hi sifus here i am using ddpai z50 pro. 2nd day. I have these little white dots on my dash cam footage in the night. Daylight is ok. May i know if this is normal? 2) I am not a DDpai user. Back in 2014-2015 many cams exhibited such dots in night scenes. They are called "hot pixels" and these artifacts are a result of the cam software trying to make a clearer view. However nowadays I'd expect such things to be filtered out. Suggestions: Try installing the latest firmware. Try various resolutions, field of view, contrast and sharpening/enhancement levels (if possible) and see if such dots recur. Several other slight possibilities (in the case those white dots are not video artifacts): the lens is dusty or someone has been applying makeup powder/foundation in the car and there are particles floating around. |

New user of ddpai z50 pro here. Installed for 2 weeks. And notice that it occasionally gives warning message saying that rear csmera is disconnected and reconnected. I checked all connection and are good. I replaced with new sandisk high endurance card but the issue is still there.
Anyone experienced the similar problem and any solution? |

I installed it myself. Have to watch youtube tutorials to see how to hide the cables etc. It's pretty easy for a sedan car. |

Hi all, anyone using 70mai A500s? I am having issues with this dashcam
Problem: when memory is empty, no issues in recording, but after recording around a month, it started having issue that asking to format my SD card. Testing: 1. When it ask for format SD card, i tried restart it, some times ok, some times restart 2-3 times it is ok. 2. Tried format the SD card in dashcam, it becomes ok. 3. I had tried Kingston Endurance and Sandisk Extreme both card having same issues. After all of these then i return back to seller. and they claim they return me a new unit, which seems like not, becuase there is no sticker on the dashcam unit, no box and nothing. Just tell me if same things happen means my SD card issue. I had update firmware by memory card still having same issues. Any sifu here can guide? |

Hi All,
What's a good brand for dashcam nowadays for both front and rear (budget around 500-600?) ? And also does having a rear dashcam hurts the car battery further? Trying to find something user friendly in terms of the apps as it is for my parent's car (proton persona) and want to ensure that in case anything happens, they are able to retrieve it. Also, may i know what are the 4g link kits that i've seen with some of the dashcam. Thank you sifus |
