Medufsaid Thanks. That's the general overall. I guess if there's changes, they will update it in the FAQ like what they did for flexible portfolio. So I guess how many ETFs in my % risk portfolio don't matter.

... Don't matter?

It is stated there:
Single ETF means 0.3% not subject to amount of fund

Next week high unlikely they will raise rates 🤦‍♀️ but what is important whether is there any future impending rate raises  and the most important signal of whether rate raises is done for the next 6 months

When rate moves up or down, the outcome is decided by the market forces which moves the treasuries yields and equities on whether they welcome or hate the news so the outcome is highly difficult to predict as sometimes when rate raises share still raises

This round a lot factor in play because we have escalating war now in Middle East, sticky inflation in DM and also slowing backdrop in global economy

Interest rate unchanged

Gonna be green I guess..

Mine is not flexible portfolio (0.3% is for flexible portfolio. Even thematic portfolio doesn't have the 0.3%). Mine is original % risk index portfolio that was created by Stashaway Malaysia when it first started. Only can choose the % risk and nothing else. So I don't even know how many ETFs are in the portfolio. Looking at the asset class, it just tells you the general locality or types of assets it holds in %. Don't tell you the specifics.. That's why after Medufsaid replid and I think a bit, I think mine is just based on general % based on $ amount invested

I wouldn’t bothered because they underperformed 🤦‍♀️ worse than other robo advisors in the market even though strong marketing

Jobs data 🤦‍♀️ wait for Core CPI if it is bad they will consider a hike because he already said the possibility is there

Next month jobs data would be also a signal after that

They of course have to talk up their robo. If talk down, then people won't invest. smile.gif

Since the implementation of 0.3% fee for single ETFs (flexible portfolio), does anyone know if if this is cheaper than purchasing them from Rakuten?

Currently using Rakuten to purchase individual US ETFs but UI/UX is not as good as SA and many don't take into consideration that there is a buy/sell spread when converting MYR to USD on top of the usual buying and selling fees

Thank you!

  • If not mistaken, you can convert RM to USD in rakuten and keep the USD as cash. So, no conversion every time
  • You have no control over the timing/pricing in SA, like shooting darts in the dark. SA sold my ETF at market open, so happens to be the lowest price on that day.
so, there's no clear cut answer if using SA is better, try to use IBKR instead of rakuten

Small amount DCA consider SA flexible, decent size lump sum per quarter or per year consider Rakuten

no one knows, average returns per year over a 10 year period are sometimes concentrated gains in a few years only.
Up to you to decide your own strategy.
Maybe consider the flexible portfolio if you dont like the default SA portfolios.

Nothing to do with robo smart or not 🤦‍♀️ it is the data feed into it and quantify by investment committee who decide on the Asset Allocation which they sucks while underperforming

Forget about it 🤦‍♀️ 0.3% is yearly and if you spread and buy and hold for long term it will be more expensive 🤦‍♀️

When you buy always factored in at least 3% in costs and look forward for at least to cover the costs after 1 year holding
