TPLink good for those wanna simple/fast setup but their firmware not up to date, mostly will came out like 3 kind of firmware version then, silent. Asus still top priority for everyone with stable, good firmware continuous movement with support. If not may try for third party firmware.

Why make you want Linksys router? hmm.gif  I'm not sure about velop, most of user having problem on frequently disconnected on wifi because of their bad firmware, some of them revert back from latest to original/older firmware. Many of their routers support unifi, even singtel version also can support unifi&maxis.

haha. because i am "appearance association". i care about the look more than the rest. haha.

linksys routers and mesh wifi seriously look better than other brands.

i see. since linksys one support unifi. meaning has the PPPoE option. is getting a more advance router better than getting mesh wifi? if high-end model will it be possible to cover a double storey terrace?

if yes, among linksys model, do you have any suggestions? thanks.

for me stable connection much needed with stable firmware. Then, come to price and specs. Mesh for those place have more than 1 floor or wide area. If your place big and have more than 1 level better get mesh or playing around with ceiling access point like tplink and ubiquiti. Even you get high end model router, maybe can cover half or maybe cannot, not fully covered.. All depend how big size of your house and which place you gonna put your router/mesh. Just try & error. While others may suggest you to get two of asus rt-ac86u for aimesh, that might solved your problem of wifi coverage.

for linksys, even legendary wrt type got problem. if want wrt type avoid AC1900, just get wrt3200acm / WRT32X router, if still wanna ac1900 just install third party firmware. these wrt can install openwrt or dd wrt firmware. That for long term usage if you wanna go with linksys. While others linksys router quite hanky panky with unstable connection from their firmware.

Since I am not satisfy with my lan cable....I mean the generic white color 15 meters lan cable.

I have read some info from the internet.

It is branded with " data cable cat5e UTP 24 awg 2pair "

I don't understand isn't sat5e cable mean more advance , yet still use 2 pairs of wire ?

Sricxm at lowyat plaza....don't sell poor quality ethernet lan cable to customer.... vmad.gif

u make customer suffer now .    vmad.gif

sometimes the download speed drop to 23M....

sometimes the upload speed  drop to 5.5M when doing tm speed test.

I think there are 4 reasons of delaying the 800M:
1) Waiting for Maxis so that that can counter the price
2) Too many 800M Turbo customer complain on wifi/downgrade to 100M. So low demand/avoid too many wifi complain
3) Dont have budget to upgrade network equipment/pay overseas ISP for international routing/waiting from Gov budget/waiting to lease TNB infra/waiting to share infra cost with other Malaysia ISP (current infra cost i suspect 10% gov 90% TM)
4) In dilemma to go for 800M or 1Gbps

My previous package was rm 179 for 30Mbps ( turboed to 500 Mbps ). Last July renew for rm 159, 100 Mbps. Even at 100 Mbps very underutilized.

Owh..that RM89 does not have hypptv box, so your package I think not compatible to be downgrade.
You can try request at tmpoint. Best of luck icon_rolleyes.gif

One thing I don't like the 30M package unlimited data is the upload speed 10M only.
Don't u ™ know that ur competitors maxis and celcom with the same package offer 30M upload speed ???

Unifi 30M is not enough speed.... i know because i am using it now.
50M charge rm100 or 100M charge rm115 should be o.k. and reasonable price.

There is time when download bt p2p other people reach 100% and u stuck
at lower speed....the feeling is not good.

I wish download speed higher like 50M kackage.

not asking for me. for my parents. they are using 100Mbps plan at rm129 now (cheapest unlimited from TM that they can switch to last year, previously they were paying rm179 for 500Mbps).
that time their unifi plan had no more contract and we wanted to bargain at tm point for the hidden rm89 30Mbps unlimited but the lady insisted no such plan and ended up switched to 100Mbps with no choice.
actually that time maxis 30Mbps with symmetric download and upload speeds was also a good choice, but worrying that for maxis, if there is any problem, it maybe more troublesome to call them up to troubleshoot than unifi since they may need unifi support as well for line problem if any. and their house has no more free port, if want to switch to maxis, need to get maxis installed first then terminate unifi. can be done but troublesome and can be risky of losing the port if anything goes wrong.

To them 30Mbps will be certainly enough as they only use it for whatsapp and youtube streaming or web surfing. tongue.gif

if you are doing heavy downloading, certainly the faster the better even 800Mbps will be perfect. tongue.gif
yeah, but 100Mbps will be decent for most to do occasionally download at reasonable speed.
