Hey,

"Malaysian nationals holding biometric passport compliance with ICAO standard do not need visa"

When we enter Japan we HAVE to go through the IMMIGRATION OFFICER rights? He will chop a temporary visitor stamp on passport correct?

Haven't been to japan in a while. I'm unsure.gif b'cause our passport is now electronic.

That is not too bad considering an airport transfer in Europe is around RM600 on a day time.

Airport transfer are different than Cab/Taxi
Japan Airport transfer are even more expensive than EU, Japan airport transfer all using benz & Alphard, cost you Rm2000 - 5000 brows.gif
Japan taxi are famous for world most expensive.

Fill up the entry card & custom declaration form then queue up for the fingerprint & photo machine from dept of justice then after that queue up for immigration. No more chop d now use sticker. Then after collect ur checked luggage will pass last check from custom & pass them the declaration form.

Then when leave japan also no more chop liou. Use passport scanner & face recognition machine then ok liou...

Europe so big and so many countries, how to compare like that man. Eastern Europe countries probably cheap cheap.

On the other hand I took taxi in Geneva before from office to airport, around 20mins / 10km journey was SFr 45 or 50 IIRC (like rm200ish).

This I get from going Western EU but not at the popular countries (England, France, Germany, etc) so I guess its about averages the cheap and expensive EU countries and distance is pretty standard from airport to city (flat rate somemore).

You got a point there. Somehow despite being expensive (I guess even for locals) and many guides advicing against taking taxis as first choice, that industry doesn't seem on the decline nor threatened by Grab/Uber/Lyft competition. There are still tons of taxis whereever I turn to.

Simply because ride sharing are not legal in whole of Japan. I think they only operate now in Japan. Though expensive, taxis in Japan is very clean and normally they dont cheat. Like HK, the taxis drivers are trying to push Uber away.

Extremely tight.
Takachiho gorge and aso is far. I think you need to go gorge from kumamoto not aso. Unzen and Obama is for hotspring.

I will skip Unzen. I was thinking it is on the way from Nagasaki to Kumamoto so can stop by for lunch there or something.

I have tried to google map, gorge is nearer to Aso though. Just 1 hour drive.

Wowzers! Packed like mad. You will spend a lot of time on the road and not sightseeing places.
And only spending the landing day at nagasaki before moving on is kinda wasted as there is so much more to see in nagasaki. Mine too is 8 days 7 nites but only at 2 locations. Since ur driving, I would suggest spending 2 days at each location. Fukuoka is nothing really special unless you plan to do shopping or going outskirts.

Must go up mount inasayama beautiful view in Nagasaki. Prepare warm clothing very cold with strong wind.
Spare extra days for change of plan when weather not permitting.

If you would like to see just the A Bomb related, you will want to go the A Bomb Museum, Peace Memorial Hall, the Peace Park, the Peace Statue and even perhaps Urakami church. That itself could fill nearly ur whole day lor. Then not forget other interest like Dejima old town, Glover Garden, Suwa Jinja, the various Chinese temples, Megane Bridge, Chinatown, and of course Mt Inasa. The Penguin Aquarium is on the other side of the peninsula where the city is at, so that could take 0.5~1 day itself.

Nagasaki & Fukuoka

PS. If you do go to the Memorial Hall, try spotting a bit of Malaysian involvement there. nod.gif
