I have been noted by Unifi that the current Unifi password that I have before the Turbo speed upgrade can no longer be used. That is why I have problem with Unifi PPPoE login authentication stage and the router will be disconnected from the Internet if the login fails. But it won't affect HyppTV STB connection. Until I get the new password, I cannot access the Internet but only HyppTV channels.

We also cannot reset/change the password after the Turbo speed upgrade. In the past, we can change it at will through occ.unifi.my page. Now, the old password can no longer be used. You have to refer to Unifi technical assistance (live chat, etc.) to get your latest Unifi password if you forget or unsure.

You can connect back to your old router (unifi original), and login to setting page.
There can find your PPPPoE ID & password (thats how I found it)
and for my case, my password remain unchanged even after turbo upgrade o. (is the first password provided in my Unifi Order form back in year 2011)

Edit : if you are not changing new router, then think is unifi mistake to change your password, might have to wait for their further action sad.gif

Unifi says once the password has been reset, the old one cannot be used.

My PPPoE password didn't change after the Turbo upgrade and like SzeMeng76, it's still the same password that I set on OCC after I signed up for VIP5. Mine is 7 characters instead of the typical 13 char system generated password.

You're right though, PPPoE and HyppTV username/password are 2 different items. Can't they give your new password over the phone or via SMS?

Normally when I call 100 to do a password reset for my friends, TM will:
1. SMS new passwd to their phone
2. Read new passwd over the phone
3. Set to tmnet123 after failing #2 for 2 or 3 times. This is one way to get a nice short password. Just keep repeating it back to them wrongly.

Any ideas why this happens?

Up until 500Mbps, I always use speedtest.tm.com.my for my speedtests. It was fast and consistent. But on 800Mbps, my results vary depending on the browser I use.

user posted image

On TM's speedtests, Firefox is nice and fast but Safari is always consistently slower. I thought maybe Safari's fault but it does fine on Time's speedtest or speedtest.net.

Did a few more tests.
Chromium browsers - I tested Safari, Chrome, Brave & Opera - are not as fast as Gecko browsers - Firefox, Waterfox - on speedtest.tm.com.my. This is on MacOS. Are Windows users seeing the same thing?

My Unifi previously turbo to 300Mbps download and 100Mbps upload but out of sudden, when I speed test my line, I would cap at 100Mbps down and 50Mbps up, anybody know why this happened?

Previously using the same equipment, I can achieve stable at 300Mbps down and 100mbps up without any problem

Maybe TM accidentally set you to 100/50. Does your package still show as Turbo 300? Testing on wired yes?

Reported to hotline, could not get through on 100. So used Facebook messenger. After almost an hour of chatting, including sending a video of the choppy picture, photos of router, STB, asking me to verify LAN cable not faulty, etc., they logged a case and asked me to agree to pay RM 53 if they come on-site and find it's not their fault. Some more say that if STB or router needs to be replaced, I can either pay them RM 188 for router or RM 300 for STB and keep my contract, or they replace and extend my contract from date of replacement. I was waiting for them to call to arrange visit, but the video skipping appears to have been solved.

Cheers!

Told ya.. It happens occasionally and tends to resolve itself... Only if it doesn't resolve itself after a few days, would I bother to contact CS.. Else, just wait it out. smile.gif

That would be for the router, right? I'm sure some have. You got it changed by TM?

I don’t know whether it’s for the router or not. They just slapped me with this RM188.68 charge. When TM technician came to install the router, I was told that it’s free from any charges.

RM188 is TM's standard price for the router so I guess it must be for that. Try to get them to cancel the charges since they said it was for free.
