My neighbours were really funny.

The moment I pointed out to them using thestar newspaper, they seem to be 'shocked'.

They asked a lot about maxis RM89 30Mbps and TM RM79 30Mbps. I had to explain to them on TM 60gb quota.

Then I said, "K lah, if you guys don't wanna share anymore, good luck on getting new port for your own fiber. Our district doesn't have vacant fibre port anymore"

Cue further explaination.....

Considering House A neighbours only pay RM50 each for current unifi 500Mbps for me......(what....sharing with total 4 houses including mine)......3 of my neighbours household 'representative' agreed to continue sharing....

This evening = will hold meeting with House B neighbours.....

Those stuffs were done last year before I got lay off at beginning of year 2018  ............

Plus, I don't spent much....LAN cable installation and neighbours' router = neighbours paid for it.

Technically, I only pay RM130 total per month for both unifi accounts + seedbox/vpn combo.

I received turbo boost yesterday to 500Mbps. Connect the router dlink 850l connect 5ghz WiFi for my iPhone and stay near router only get 200mbps ++

Will this router support 500mbps? Will TM replace new router for free or should I get myself new router?

This is a "common practice" in the market. Many are doing it.
Installers won't bother where you installed, so long they get their work done. They will however warn you if Astro found out and they will not be responsible.

why not get those google cloud server? their international latency is awesome, even to china! u can try mudfish.net to get a feel of all the providers

Really jimat... If every house pay minimum RM50 then it's RM150 for 3 houses, so the balance you pay yourself. But put those seedbox etc aside, it's better to let them get own connection. Let them do however they like.

Btw forget to ask. Has anyone tried to terminate unifi and still keep the landline? either switch it back to copper or keep it on BTU. is that possible? Helping a colleague who is been transfer to another place but still want to keep the landline for parents use.

I think they will eventually want to migrate to an end to end all fiber network for all customers. Save a lot of cost that way, and don't have to worry about copper line theft.

Cable intended for connecting from wall plate to your PC aka patch cable is supposed to be stranded for flexibility. This type is usually bought pre-connectored.
Cable going in ducts and risers aka plenum cable should be solid core for lower loss. This is normally connected on site. This cable is often sold in 305m boxes

But there are still dumb thieves cutting off fibre cable thinking it is a copper cable.....

France hosting is cheaper in term of speed and hdd space..... , latency isn't important for my case.

Why do you think I have seedbox + vpn subscription?

C1200/850L --->Custom routing server on I3-4330 (route to anonymous vpn server here)--->Gigabit switch---> LAN connections to 3 neighbours' router.

I have my household devices connected directly to C1200/850L.

My own house and my inlaws house located 3km away driving distance. So in straight distance maybe about 2km. Plus my house located a bit higher ground compared to my inlaws.

So my question is ...Is that possible if i can install a dish on my roof and  beaming it towards my in laws house and provide them my Internet? My current plan is 500Mbps.

Can save another subscription on my inlaw. Anyone??

anyway singapore is really lax about piracy! some of their isps (eg m1 axiata) even have installment plans for android boxes and encourage torrenting, and advertise no throttling. lol

anyway seedbox impt is high throughput, latency doesnt matter lol...

Is it even legal to do so in the 1st place?

If yes, will placing those dish near to where we stay, will affect our health?

What about the cost of building the setup? Worth the money saved for sharing?
