Hi, I having a issue on my home network here.
This problem has been persist for over half year now.

I got upgraded with Huawei Omnimesh wa8021v5 mesh WIFI half year ago, it is suppose to cover the WIFI blind spots in my home (apartment). The installer installed both mesh WIFI in different part of the house.

Router is TP-Link AC1350 EC230-G1 also provided by TIME.

The problem I am facing right now is, my phone unable to roam between mesh WIFI, meaning that when I go to certain part of the house although my phone indicated that my WIFI signal is connected and strong but I couldn't access to the internet until I toggle off and on the WIFI.

This problem happen on my phone and sometimes my android tablet, I have reset both my devices yet still the same problem.

May I know what's the reason?
And I also noticed that one of the SSID from the mesh WIFI said "5Ghz" but the network is "2.4Ghz" according to the WIFI analyzer app.

Hi guys, I just move to a new house. In this new house, each room has its own ethernet ports.

I want to connect my PC but it's not working. How do I activate them? Should i just contact TIME?

Have you tried connecting to another ports.
Might need to check one by one which one is through that port.
Check behind the Wall Port and check whether is there any cable behind wall port.
Some developers never put wire or connect the wire.

Are you using the 2 in 1 Mesh Router or Huawei ONU without antenna?
If without Antenna, you need to connect to router and setup the PPPoE on the router.
Then from Router LAN Port 1 to 4 to the switch.

Anyone know if the Huawei Mesh Node given by Time can pair with other Huawei Router such as WS7100 or WS5200?
Want to add one more node, but time force me add to RM80 installation (self care portal) which is totally unnecessary for me, and I do feel the signal is weaker after upgraded doh.gif , no antenna!

Hi, would like to ask on the installation fibre pulling.
My house is about to begin renovations and my plan is to have the fiber pulled from main entrance to my bedroom (about 10m in straight line) above plaster ceiling.

Question:
1) Should I ask my renovator ready the pipe (hidden above ceiling) for the fiber then only Time installer come?
can the installer install into pre-existing pipe like that?

or

2) Time installer come install and then my renovator put the cable into pipes above ceiling?

Please advice. Thank you

Except for the cable from your modem to your switch, I don't see any other ethernet cable.

I think the right combination should be from the modem to the router and from the router to the switch (Modem > Router > Switch). From the switch each port in the room with ethernet port should be connected to that switch (Switch > Room with ethernet port). Only then can your PC or other gadget connect to internet using your room ethernet port.

The function of the router is obviously to dial in via PPOE through your modem while separating the internet connection (1) via the switch to all connecting LAN and (2) via its wifi to all connecting wifi devices.

Does that mean my main router should be placed in the networking box? Cuz it's currently in the living room

You need to place a switch at the place where all LAN cables from rooms are located.
From your router pull one LAN cable to your switch.

(if all LAN cables from room is coming near to your router, then you can place the switch there too)

That black thing is called patch panel.

Since all your devices are at one place. Just get one switch (maybe 8 port switch)

1) the blue cable from router connect to switch (one port)
2) from patch panel port to switch port (for each room make one connection to switch)

Then all will be working. All rooms will have internet.

(with you current configuration, you only will have internet at one room)

This is a known problem. Try placing the Mesh Nodes within line of sight, avoid L-corners if possible.

This problem happen on my phone and sometimes my android tablet, I have reset both my devices yet still the same problem.

Probably your case the link between Node 1 & Node 2 is meshed with 2.4GHz band.

For your case which is on Huawei HG8240H5 ONU, if you want to use all ethernet ports in your house, then you will need a router placed inside the SOHO box, and from the router patch all cables into the patch panel (https://imgur.com/KLmleCR) .
Assuming you have 5 ports occupied on the patch panel, you will need a network switch as normal router only has 4 ports.

Thanks.

I suppose that "black thing" is a switch and on top of it is the TIME modem. The router must be there as well and all must be switched on and connected via ethernet cable.

As said, the right setup will be modem < > router < > switch < > to each room ethernet cable. Only then you can simply connect to your room ethernet port, if it is an ethernet port.

And do make sure that the ethernet cable is 5e because the switch clearly doesn't support more than that.

Greetings TIMErs. I would like to ask opinion on international routing on TIME vs unifi mainly. I read from this thread about the congestion on TIME own pipeline around last years MCO where everyone stayed at home which is quite bad. Can you guys can enlighten me on TIME performance nowadays? Thank you
