QUOTE(locoroco2 @ Oct 10 2018, 01:02 AM) Need help on TIME fibre installation on cabling... my building comes with VDSL infrastructure, so to install TIME, TIME will need to pull a fiber optic cable through my main entrance, I understand that normally the technician will drill a hole at the entrance wall for the fiber goes through correct? But I am not allowed to drill any hole (tenancy agreement) at the unit. Can I request the fiber optic to go through the gap at the bottom of the main door? the door gap here is about 6mm, would install cable trunking to protect it.. Yes you can request for that by understanding the risk of using this method. Thanks.

QUOTE(Karen1995 @ Oct 10 2018, 01:39 AM) 1.May I know the latest free router time giving better or Mi Router 3G? Performance wise on par. Signal penetration Mi Router 3G is slightly better. 2.My subscription auto upgraded to 1gb from 500mbps, does it means another 24-months contract locked? (Contract finished for 500mbps) NO contract reset, your contract continues from previous package.

QUOTE(sparrowed @ Oct 9 2018, 10:51 PM) does anyone knows how to login to the Huawei HG 8240H GPON ? my Time technician told me the port configured incorrectly, thats why im getting 100mbps despite upgraded to 500. There's no need to configure on that. We only do certain config under special cases or non-home broadband case.

Guys, question im using Asus RT-AC86U for the router and for my pc wifi adapter using Tplink Archer T9E.
I am only able to get a wifi speed of 400MBPS-450MBPS. Router is just beside the computer. If i use my iphone I am able to get up to 600MBP currently subscribe to 1GBPS. Is it normal for my pc to only get up to 400-450MBPS, I havent tried using cable yet.

QUOTE(Proton2.0 @ Oct 10 2018, 09:12 AM) Could it be your HDD bottleneck? Avg hdd throughput around 50MB/s, which is around 400Mbps. Try testing with a PC with SSD. I am currently using SSD for my desktop. I might try using cable connection to isolate the issue.

QUOTE(Proton2.0 @ Oct 10 2018, 07:17 AM) Your landlord don't allow? Maybe talk to him. You are not simply drilling anyhoies. One the cable is laid, future user of the place can use also. Anyway, the installer does a very good job, after drill, cover nicely at the corner. Put some paint on it and you won't notice unless you stare into the corner. The unit here is furnished with wooden panel at the entrance wall inside out so I can understand the landlord try to avoid that now btw can you pls snap/share a photo of the drilled hole with cover provided by TIME? thanks in advance bro!

QUOTE(stasio @ Oct 10 2018, 03:45 AM) As you have VDSL infrastructure or copper phone line in apartment, installer will follow that same phone truncking to pull fiber in premise. Thanks bro! I think if not mistaken the installer will follow the VDSL trunking up to my floor level then to my main entrance, after that will need to drill a hole or pull through the door bottom gap to enter the unit QUOTE(jjj2 @ Oct 10 2018, 08:20 AM) Yes you can request for that by understanding the risk of using this method. Great sharing there bro! are you using any special trunking system to protect the fibre optic cable at the bottom of the door?

QUOTE(Proton2.0 @ Oct 10 2018, 09:09 AM) Say, i want to ask. Is there beamforming in the tplink AC1900? How do i enable this? Do i need to enable beamforming in my devices too to take advantage of it? You don't need to enable anything. It is there by default. No, you do not need to enable beamforming in devices.

QUOTE(HarrionX @ Oct 10 2018, 12:23 AM) Speed got upgraded to 500Mbps, but still speed stuck at 100 or 120mbps only. Thinking to downgrade. It stated if downgrade within contract , "12/24 months contract reset" Does that mean if I left 2 more month to contract end, then I downgrade, it will reset become 24 months back? thats right. not worth to pay high, while speed suffers to break 150mbps number. better to pay less for 100mbps. (which is good enough for most users)

Didnt get a response from Time FB messenger so I thought I will ask here.
I’m an existing (still under contract, 1 last month remaining) user for Time which has just been upgraded the speed from 100 to 500. So when I login to Selfcare page, I can see that I’m able to redeem a free router - TP-Link AC1200 but will have a contract renewal of 2 years. So my question is can I get the DLink router DIR-882 instead? I can top up the difference.
