Need help on TIME fibre installation on cabling... my building comes with VDSL infrastructure, so to install TIME, TIME will need to pull a fiber optic cable through my main entrance, I understand that normally the technician will drill a hole at the entrance wall for the fiber goes through correct?

But I am not allowed to drill any hole (tenancy agreement) at the unit. Can I request the fiber optic to go through the gap at the bottom of the main door? the door gap here is about 6mm, would install cable trunking to protect it..

Only TM drill the hole as per my experience before, don't know why they need to drill the hole as the apartment already have their trunking. When I change to TIME, TIME installer just use the trunking from outside my house into the house, and put out the cable from the hole its already have inside the house. No need to drill. Maybe need to drill if your apartment don't have the appropriate trunking system.

my building/unit doesn't come with the fiber optic trunking system so since I am not allowed to drill a hole at the entrance wall, my only option is to pull the cable through the bottom door gap doh.gif not sure whether it can be done... or TIME would insist to drill a hole? hope someone here can shed some light... notworthy.gif

Your landlord don't allow? Maybe talk to him. You are not simply drilling anyhoies. One the cable is laid, future user of the place can use also. Anyway, the installer does a very good job, after drill, cover nicely at the corner. Put some paint on it and you won't notice unless you stare into the corner.

The unit here is furnished with wooden panel at the entrance wall inside out so I can understand the landlord try to avoid that now sweat.gif btw can you pls snap/share a photo of the drilled hole with cover provided by TIME? thanks in advance bro! notworthy.gif

As you have VDSL infrastructure or copper phone line in apartment, installer will follow that same phone truncking to pull fiber in premise.
*
Thanks bro! thumbsup.gif I think if not mistaken the installer will follow the VDSL trunking up to my floor level then to my main entrance, after that will need to drill a hole or pull through the door bottom gap to enter the unit smile.gif

Yes you can request for that by understanding the risk of using this method.
Thanks.

Noted thanks bro! thumbsup.gif

Mine goes through the bottom gap of my front door but the gap is approx 10mm.
So far i have had no issue for more than 4 years.

Great sharing there bro! thumbup.gif are you using any special trunking system to protect the fibre optic cable at the bottom of the door?

Is the new RM99/month plan for 100Mbps only valid for the first 24 months or permanent one?

Archer C1200 itself can support wired speed p to 800Mbps--900Mbps. You have to make sure other factors such as your receiving devices (Laptop, Ipad, Mobiles etc) are all able to cope with that requirement. By changing router itself but having poor user devices will not give optimal performance.

In real word, we tested Archer C1200, wired the highest approx. 8xxMbps & wireless approx. 4xxMbps.

You can purchase the D-Link 882 via selfcare at subsidized price of RM550.
We have tested during installations, wired speed recorded 99xMbps & Wireless 4xxMbps.

Thanks.

Dlink 882 WIFi max at 4xxMbps even on 1Gbps Plan? I mostly use Wifi at home so is that mean it makes no difference if I just go for 500Mbps plan on Wifi connection? Thanks bro for clarification! Any router can support Wifi max at near 1Gbps (assuming my devices can support it)?

Good stuff. Signal performance is very good. Beats AC3150 routers in the market.

For those that know technical details, AC3150 routers are basically AC2600 but they are AC3150 capable due to proprietary technology and only limited devices can enjoy.

Don't be fooled by the looks. smile.gif

Hey guys so i finally had the chance to head to my friends place to test his time connection, yea his internet is 1gbps and it works perfectly however he is unable to visit bet888 and i thought maybe the site is down, but i tried connecting to other websites e.g. googled xvideo on his pc and clicked the link it said the same thing "connection timed out", not sure what to do because i recommended him to get time when they started servicing his neighborhood.

Should i maybe use a different DNS or turn off DNS? or do i contact time however might be a very awkward conversation, and he is asking me to fix it  wacko.gif

If google DNS not working then try use Tor Browser (It can run off a USB flash drive, comes with a pre-configured web browser to protect anonymity, and is self-contained , portable) as an urgent fix.

Their block is on and off. Sometimes blocked, sometimes can access.
Does not work anymore. I change to google dns . Last time can access. Now cannot.

But its on and off. Sometimes can access. Sometimes its blocked.
*
so far Unifi if changed to google DNS always working, can access blocked sites without issue... any TIME specialists here can re-confirm on the issue on TIME with google DNS would encounter sites blocking on and off randomly? if so that would be a potential deal breaker for some...
