Which area are you in?

Tried to restart the router. Does this happens in the morning and afternoon?
No problem on my side as of now.

Thanks

WHY on earth is it going to Tokyo for a connection to Oceania???  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif

Looks like we have to go through this routing merry-go-round with you guys like every couple of months.

Tested on my connection, indeed it routes to Tokyo before going to Blizzard server.

When you have low dl speed from certain servers, try to dl some big file from Microsoft....eg...Win 10 iso.
Then you will know your real speed....

Attached Image

124.48MBps = ~996Mbps

Can't wait to try this new router from Asus, RT AX88U 802.11AX featuring OFDMA & MU-MIMO.

Supports 160MHz bandwidth and 1024-QAM to provide WiFi speed of up 6000Mbps :
1148Mbps on 2.4GHz band & 4804Mbps on 5GHz band which is over twice as fast as 802.11ac 4×4 dual-band routers.

No AX devices in the market yet.

Only advantage is 160Mhz which only few devices supported.

Im wondering whether the OFDMA will actually happening on the 80MHz or even 20/40MHz band or it has to be coupled in 80+80=160MHz to work... as the subcarrier has been significantly been narrowed in 802.11ax.

I did called up TIME CS and did the TIME SPEEDTEST on the spot. The CS also seen the real time speed from my terminal. She admitted something not right and raised a ticket on my feedback. I am only getting average <1Mbps for DL but surprisingly the UL can maintain 30-50 Mbps that time. Luckily the line back to normal few hours later. I did noticed the connection dropped intermittently during this period.

It seems like line stability is a issue and i also encountered few times line drop in a day and need to reboot the router and ONU. Is this normal? hmm.gif

Absolutely not normal...
Did TIME walk you through how to perform direct ONU test ?

Thanks.

Only if your place is being covered.. Only a select few locations are.. Else, very hard as TIME prefers to lay down their own cables rather than lease others. So right now, they are focusing more towards high-rise buildings. At least, that's how I understand it.

Thanks for the advise. Since it's new line, i will continue to monitor and hopefully there is no more sudden line drop issue.

Sounds like this router is serving you well! My apartment is nowhere as big as yours but this seems to be a good option to get good coverage!

Yes, my goal was to just use a single WIFI router to cover an entire home. I don't have much hope for Mesh or Powerline as I will definitely have losses in Pings. For further corners of the home, 2.4Ghz works well to reach. For closer areas like my study room and connecting my PC, 5ghz really is speedy.

Have to do some fine tuning like, channel bonding 1024-QAM and test and select the best performing signal channels to get the best speed. Nothing is really plug and play when it comes to WIFI's best performance. Definitely need to spend at least 30 minutes to fine tune the signals and channels for optimum performance.

Choosing the right and wrong signal can mean at least 100mbps difference. So this is an important step.

how can be cat5e worse than wifi??

I will buy n try with a new cat6 cable this weekend,
if really router spoil, any idea how to complain?
*
Either your CAT5E is bad or the port is bad.

As far as I know if the tech is similar to LTE, OFDMA will subdivide a channel into sub-channels so should work with any channel configuration. My 2 cents, correct me if I'm wrong.

Main advantage is of AX is mainly efficiency and standardized 1024QAM support which means Gigabit WiFi is more possible now. Imagine peak link speed of 1200Mbps even on entry level AX device.
