Anything i need to take note for the installation cause my installation will be take place in this week. I try to minimize the problems after the installer left. Eg. Router Software version update, desktop setting, speed test etc.
Thanks.

QUOTE(FusionXY @ Oct 28 2018, 06:44 PM) Hi. Make sure that your installer install the cable properly. The cable is arranged properly. Check the speed test on your PCs. Sometimes installer laptop can achieve the speed while your own devices cannot. Check the speed test whether it matches with the plan that you subscribed. Check the router is on the latest version. Check the speed over Wi-Fi. Thanks. Ok, thanks for the info.

QUOTE(stasio @ Nov 2 2018, 10:27 AM) When you have low dl speed from certain servers, try to dl some big file from Microsoft....eg...Win 10 iso. Then you will know your real speed.... [attachmentid=10094526] 124.48MBps = ~996Mbps I did called up TIME CS and did the TIME SPEEDTEST on the spot. The CS also seen the real time speed from my terminal. She admitted something not right and raised a ticket on my feedback. I am only getting average <1Mbps for DL but surprisingly the UL can maintain 30-50 Mbps that time. Luckily the line back to normal few hours later. I did noticed the connection dropped intermittently during this period. It seems like line stability is a issue and i also encountered few times line drop in a day and need to reboot the router and ONU. Is this normal?

QUOTE(jjj2 @ Nov 2 2018, 02:21 PM) Absolutely not normal... Did TIME walk you through how to perform direct ONU test ? Thanks. Thanks for the advise. Since it's new line, i will continue to monitor and hopefully there is no more sudden line drop issue.

Hi guys, i am considering to upgrade my 100Mbps to 500Mbps package with RM10 rebate per month for 24 months.
I would like to clarify if i upgrade my C1200 to TP Link EC230, is there any improvement on signal coverage with thie EC230 vs my current C1200? Currently i found my C1200 is quite weak coverage in my apartment. Or is it worth to pay RM699 to upgrade to ASUS AC86U?
Appreciate your input.

QUOTE(precept66 @ Apr 19 2020, 01:00 PM) Asus AC 86U is a good choice for this budget. Hardly will go wrong. User myself. I just called CS and they advise me better use Linksys Velop for better coverage. According to them, AC86U is "Good for gaming" but is not designed for coverage....i have no idea since i never use it. Are you experiencing better coverage with AC86U? FYI, my apartment is 1100 sqft which i think it's not that sizable and hope to cover by using only One good router and i am thinking the most cost effective and fastest way is direct replacing my current C1200 (3 antennas) with the EC-230 (4 antennas)to enhance the coverage issue.

QUOTE(precept66 @ Apr 19 2020, 01:56 PM) Firstly, I'm not a gamer myself or Asus reseller, so I cannot comment. But it serve me well these years @ walkway, washrooms, kitchen area consistently. Mine area is ~ 1850sq ft. Positioning of the router is also important. Even if any replacement needed in future, Asus will get my due attention. 1850sqft is much larger area. My biggest challenge in my house is the signal has to penetrate 3 concrete walls to reach my master bedroom. Hope AC86U can do wonders on this. QUOTE(jimbet1337 @ Apr 19 2020, 02:20 PM) 1100 sqft should be no problem with AC86U. Well still positioning is important Well with you guys users' experience, it should be much convincing than CS.

QUOTE(jimbet1337 @ Apr 19 2020, 04:43 PM) Just a quick comparison for your situation. Hope this helps: Left: Sitting 2 meters from the router (living room). No obstructions. Right: Sitting in bedroom. 3 walls, bedroom door closed. About 10 meters. Quite a big drop but >100mbps is just enough I think. Additional info: Android phone, wifi AC, Time 500mbps. Btw I do install external fans for my AC86. It runs a little bit hot. Great performance but well known for its thermal issues. Local set, 1.5 years old. Wow it's impressive! Surprisingly your WIFI signal strength is full bar while in your bedroom! That's a very good example. Thanks.

QUOTE(SeNnDoh-7 @ Dec 21 2023, 10:58 AM) My TIME broadband contract already expired, and even with the promo they are offering, I'm on the fence to migrate to uMobile for lower price with same speed. Just received a call from TIME customer rep, he suggest to wait until January because TIME will announce new offer for loyal customer, but I'm still skeptical tho, but probably worth the wait, TIME internet so far give me very little headache, like no drama at all like maxis, unifi in my previous experience. Looking here for best way to get seamless transition if I decided to migrate later. Me too looking into migrating to other BB operator as TIME is very strict (Stingy) in offering. Even i have been with TIME for more than 5 years and no longer under contract, they also won't consider offering me for relocation fee waiver.

QUOTE(SeNnDoh-7 @ Dec 21 2023, 09:12 PM) yea i tried ask them to price match or upgrade my speed to higher for same price, but unfortunately, they cant to that. the best they can offer is 1. renew contract + free 1 mth subscription or 2. renew contract + free wifi6 router Are those TIME offers come with new 24 mnths contract binding?
