Yeah moving to a new house. So better use cat6  cable?
*
If your house is under renovation, it's better to lay conventional UTP Cables (Cat6, Cat6A, Cat7) or fiber..but not FTTR.
Usually for residential, Cat6A is sufficient....it has better protection against interference & can sustain 10Gbps transfer up to 100m (choosing good brands such as R&M, Panduit, Commscope etc. also very important)
We do have some customers requesting to have fiber laid, anyway that's totally up to their choice & the design will be slight different.
Thanks.

Cat6 so you can change any router / mesh / AP system in future as your wish and more scalable as well

The FTTR is locked down system and not so flexible

Hi! I couldn't figure out something. Help appreciated 😄
How to schedule reboot time on Time router HG8145B7N?

In my previous router WiFi6 it was possible in the Maintenance settings.
*
You may locate that under Maintenance Diagnosis > Reboot

Thanks.

Renewal Promo = RM10 monthly deduction

Call and tell them you wanna talk to the retention team and about cancellation. They will call back and prolly offer 6 motnhs free with a 2 year contract. Just did that last week.

not bad deal. will do it after my contract ended in 15 dec 2025.

tongue.gif

if rm99 200Mbps free 6 months = effectively rm74.xx before tax per month.

if need fibre internet anyway, no harm to be in contract.

Can confirm, did it just now (live chat -> live agent -> ask for retention team), even when I am still under contract, retention team got back to me in ~10 minutes. That is stupidly rapid, and 6 months free. Plan is 600 mbps though so I dont know about 200.

retention department called back. said there is 6 months offer in my account but if i use it it will apply to the current 600Mbps contract and recontract it if i proceed with this offer.

as i want to downgrade my plan to 200Mbps, i can only do it when my current contract is over. and by then and see if the 6 months offer is still there.

the CSO cindy said i can call back to look for her on 14 dec 2025 which is the last day of my contract for her to downgrade for me to 200Mbps, and hopefully there is still 6 months free which can start on 15 dec 2025. cool2.gif

so i will wait till then and see how. If the 6 months free is only for 600Mbps and not for 200Mbps even i downgraded at that time, i might as well keep it at 200Mbps no contract since the effective amount to pay monthly if renew 600Mbps plan with 6 months free is also around rm104++ per month that is close to rm99 for 200Mbps anyway. Might as well keep it no contract and stay at the speed i want.

Want to know if Huawei HG8145B7N router any issue ? I'm unifi fiber user and the skyworth 2 in 1 router from my isp is terrible, sudden no internet using 5Ghz wifi.

Saw a quite number of huawei router sold on carousell and thinking to switch from my skyworth. Just looking for a cheap router to connect 11 devices without disconnect every 2 hours.

Does not work for me. It's probably because I still have 9 months left in my contract and I just recently took up their RM10 monthly rebate offer.

They straight up told me there is no retention offer tagged to my account. bangwall.gif
