Hi sifus, I want to ask — is it easy to change to a new ASUS or TP-Link router?
My current router is HG8145V5 (600Mbps). I don’t really have much knowledge about router setup, but based on what I’ve read, the steps are:

1. Get the new router
2. Call TIME CS and switch to Bridge Mode
3. Connect the new router’s WAN port to LAN1 of HG8145V5
4. Log in to the new router and enter PPPoE username & password

Am I correct??

Besides, does any Sifu know what Router fit my neeed? Budget are RM600-800, Apartment, 1400+ft, WiFi 7 if can

600mbps plan, 2desktop PC, 1 TV, 30++ Devices including Smart Electronic and Laptop.

Yes it’s correct. If the WiFi of huawei is still on after, u can log in to it and disable it, since it’s useless now.
As for recommendations, I dont have any.

Yes, connect WAN to LAN1 then choose PPPoE with credentials.

Usually the TIME CS will not turn off the WiFi on the huawei after turning on Bridge Mode. So you will still see the WiFi from the Huawei. But if u try to use it, there won’t be Internet. If you plan to use the same SSID and password on your new router, definitely go and disable the Huawei WiFi, else your devices might connect to it.

Time installating fiber cables throughout Taman Sentosa and Bukit Kemuning area at Klang so that means can we expect Time fiber soon those locations? Maybe by 2027

If it available will worthy to move from Maxis to Time?

should be very fast. Only took about a month after laying fibre to start. But mine runs fibre on the drain so deployment is faster. For poles, idk how fast.

If you use a lot of China websites, don’t move to TIME and stay on Maxis. Else u can move if you want to.

I assume your current ONT (HG8145V5) is located at living room which is somehow center of the unit, for single router, you may opt for TP-Link BE400 or BE550 or Ruijie/Reyee RG-EW7200BE PRO.
If you wish to go for Mesh System, within this budget, you can go for TP-Link Deco BE25 (2 Nodes).

Does Time suffered same 'routing problem' like unifi where at certain time, Twitter (X) will load slower than usual, usually around 8pm-12am at night.

Nope

TIME do not have a congestion issue for now

My only complain for TIME is routing issue to China.

Big impact if you buy China domestic market smart home device from Taobao. Will suffer slow response and lagginess.

Thanks for the feedback. Clearly it's a right choice for my neighbour to terminate his Unifi and migrate to Time since the infra will ready at our taman by the end of this year.
I'll migrate to time as well later when my contract with unifi end (still a long way to go, and hope there are still available port then) sad.gif

My RM10 discount x 12 months ended already..
From 99/month reduced to 89/month, and now back to 99/month..

I appreciate the lower monthly bills.. Now thinking to switch to Unifi for 100mbps @ 89/month..

Does Time do any counter offer to attract you to stay with them? (reading few pages back, i know for those on 600mbps they will counter offer with free 6 months for 2 years contract, but im asking specifically for those on 200mbps package if anyone have any experience)

How i wish Time would do a package for 100mbps with cheaper monthly fee

Hi, how do you get the retention team to contact you, did you file for a termination? I've tried live chat but they asked me to file for termination instead rclxub.gif
Also is your contract ended before filing for this? TIA
