Yes, that old one does hijack. DNS settings are greyed out right? I've heard you can ask TIME CS to change for you.

otherwise, asking them to change to bridge mode and attaching your own router should work too
*
Right now it's not greyed out and I can enter the address for OpenDNS, but it just doesn't work.

Attached Image

But I do kinda recall it was greyed out when I checked back in 2021, though I might be wrong as it's been years.

Hi, sorry for the very late reply but thank you nonetheless for reaching out to help.  biggrin.gif

I did managed to find a network contractor to solve the issue. There was bending on the cable where it came out from the wall, guess my general contractor wasn't aware that fiber cables cannot bend too much (I also didn't know until this happened  sweat.gif ).

To avoid having to hack the wall, he spliced the cable at the riser box outside and tried to straighten as much as possible the cable inside my house. Managed to get a reading of- 23.5dB after that.
*
No worries.. -23.5dBm is still very high... Fiber reading is fluctuating, sometimes when the source gets higher, then your reading may shoot up high.... if can, lower that to -21.xdBm to be safer.
Thanks.

Since it's already working and I don't see any way to lower it without hacking the wall, just gonna continue using until something happens then that time baru hack wall to resolve. biggrin.gif

I am trying to setup TIME broadband using our own Asus router. I tried looking in this forum but can't find any guide. Anyone have a guide on what to do with the TIME provided modem/router before plugging it into the asus router?

Thanks.

Hello, are you using the 2 in 1 modem?
Or the separate ONU + Modem?

If 2 in 1 modem, contact hotline at 1800 1818 18 to convert to bridge mode then connect to modem LAN Port 1.

Retrieve your PPPOE credentials through the Self Care portal.

Setup your Asus router with others as profile.
Key in the PPPOE credentials then you are good to go.

Hi all, just change to Time for about a month, and this has happened time to time:

some sites/service like Discord, Wechat or Reddit suddenly cannot reached, pinging the sites also shows request timed out, while all other sites are just normal.

restarting the router will solve it most of the time, but would be great to have an idea what could've caused this 🙏

Hi there, just wondering if anyone on TIME has experienced intermittent disconnects?

My desktop will randomly disconnect from my home network for about 10-15 seconds or so before reconnecting so I was wondering if anyone has faced similar issues recently. TIA!

Ah okay, thank you for the quick response.

Is there a workaround for this for the time being?

Oh sounds about right, I actually encountered this issue a few months ago and like you said it magically fixed itself. But a couple days ago this issue came back so I was wondering if it was user error on my end or if there's a fix for it. sweat.gif

Thanks anyway bro!

So far, my experience 0 disconnection for the past 1y and 8 months. But I am using my own router, it could be the huawei router being weak.

Never bothered with a stock ISP router before, even from Streamyx days. Have been using a tri-band wifi 6 Asus mesh (2 units wirelessly linked) with my Time modem/GPON unit for the past 4 years with zero issues.

Sorry don’t have any recommendation. I’m using MikroTik hap ax2 as router and TP Link EAP610 as AP.
