Just changed at TmPoint Bukit Raja..early early a lot ppl dy..haha 9 clock in the morning got ppl queue outside waiting door open..when they serve me,already got 2 ppl terminate line..haha
Me no contract jor
800mbps turbo to 100mbps
129+30 for ultimate unifitv 159+6% sst = rm167
the person said if 129 excusive sst no unifitv, only online can watch..
family got watch that unifitv using stb..so no choice need to subscribe..but now from ruby+ upgrade to ultimate only add rm30 instead of rm60..they said is promotion price now..
No turbo is allowed..fix at 100mbps dy..ask why, company fix dy..not a huge deal i dont need so much..
2years contract
1year extend warranty for btu, phone, stb and others
in 3days will activate the new plan..
say bye bye to 800mbps which i never gonna achieve the speed haha..

now paying rm232 include sst which is bloody expensive
800mbps turbo + Ruby plus unifitv..
save around rm65..

Thanks for sharing! thats nice to have ultimate for RM30.

Interesting...they dont mention that online, the CS was kinda enough to let you know

I think I will be taking that path as well.

just changed my package from advance 30mbps ($139) to 100mbps ($129). took them 1 week to get it changed. i just installed unifi 2 months ago, so now contract refreshed for another 2 years (with no additional cost - i was told). I nvr use their hypptv so i do not know whether the same service is available with new package though tm point informed me it is the same package.

anyway, using their stock router tplink ac1200 v1. i had to change wifi usb adapter tl-wn822n to t2uhp coz of 5ghz support.

on tl-wn822n 802.11n 2.4ghz can get between 40-50mbps max ; upload max 40mbps

on t2uhp 802.11ac 5ghz can get 104mbps ; upload max 50mbps

i noticed the new service is called " unifi 100Mbps (STB) BEST "

oh yeah, they will send a technician to check out .... funny thing was he used lan cable to check the speed and it was at 97mbps n i uses wifi with slightly higher speed. can't complaint smile.gif.

If you came from a package with an STB already provided you don't have to return it. In fact can continue using even on the RM129 plan.

Try with and without igmp snooping, see which one works better
And btw, did u add the 'untagged' vlan 600 to the lan port in addition to the pvid? And the hypptv will only work on the port u assign vlan 600 to

Previously on 30mbps and got Turbo upgrade to 500mbps last week.

Went into TM Point Taman Desa this morning, queue for 15 mins.
Switched to RM129 for 100 Mbps package.

Checked 4 hours later, new package already effective. No need to come check/change modem. Still can use old Hypp tv box as usual.
They mentioned current month bill will be pro rated.

I'll look into those when i eventually go for higher speed packages in the future. My main PC is hardwired to the DIR 842 so wireless coverage is secondary.

I've just been on that ancient TP-Link router for so long that my perception of what constitutes normal coverage for a WIFI signal is rather skewed lol.

Fair enough, you will definitely see the difference when you get either one of the two routers.

i see.. okay. is AC1200 good enough capable of 800 mbps on LAN ? abit on low budget. wifi speed does not matter for me though.
*
It is, but as I say, if the hardware i.e the CPU is crap, your speed will be limited by that.

You have the exact same settings as mine and it doesn't work?

May I know if your HyppTV is working previously?

On normal http downloads the maximum 12.5MB/s can be sustained for the entire download with no issues but it is highly dependent on the server location.

I find that some of the best and consistent free servers to test sustained speeds are Google Drive servers and the NVIDIA driver server. NVIDIA's in particular ramps up to maximum speed immediately.

But if existing package under diff name (A) with stb, will the tech allow the new name (B) to take over the stb? think not cos name A needs to handover to tm point during cancellation....

lol isnt that 1043 an old decent router?

if anything as long as it is not crap shit like DIR-615. I think it is a huge upgrade for us. 615 wouldnt even able to maintain 5mbps wifi without disconnect. because of this I ended up buying Asus RT-N14UHP many years ago. I was wondering if anyone can tell how the 842 wifi range vs that 14UHP.

1043ND is old but you cannot go fast. The CPU cannot handle more than 200Mbps WAN to LAN IINM.

DIR842 and N14UHP are 2 vastly different device. DIR842 is a Wireless AC device which is capable to push more than 300Mbps.

N14UHP focus on range and only push around 75Mbps tops on Wireless N.

thats why I asked for range comparison. Not speed. I know AC is faster.

Anyone can confirm turbo speeds are throttled on torrent and youtube?

I have friend with turbo 800mbps only get around 2MB/s for torrent.. while my 30mbps got full speed around 3.9MB/s. Another friend just installed 100mbps 129 got around 10MB/s ( Same torrent )

As for youtube, turbo 800mbps friend got 25mbps while 100mbps friend got 75mbps..
