got my new router after getting new package, rm129 100mbps.

was on rm229 50mbps.

after changing new router, still not getting new speed, still at 53mbps.

the technician can only help to log a report.

so now i am still stuck at old package, rm229 until i can get the new speed, then only im on the new package rm129.

wtf??? anyone facing this issue?

why cant they just activate my new package with new price , i am happy to pay rm129 for old speed ( 50mbps ). they can only change my package once i get the new speed. doh.gif

It is. Depending on quality, can go up to 10Gbps. I think most here are getting new cables. If buying new ones and Cat6 is same price or not much more expensive, may as well go for that.

is Dintek cat5e good quality? i have some left over in a box, can crimp some short cables?

For 1Gbps? Good enough. Mine is Dintek Cat5e also. Half a box left.

10Gbps, no idea. Planning to test once I have the equipment. The guy in the US who posted some 10G results used Cat5e from Monoprice. Not exactly a source of really good quality cables.

Anyway for short cables, less than 2-3m, quality is usually not a problem.

do the following may help smile.gif

check your Unifi Dashboard on the portal . Is it 100Mbps plan now.

Check your PC lan internet connection . Is it 1 Gpbs

check your Lan cables from BTU to router to PC . is what CAT ?

Test using wifi on wireless AC . what is speed ?

What smartphone are you using for the test ?

info
I am on 300Mbps plan and have 3 cellphone
Xiaomi Poco get 325 Mbps
Samsung S7 get 305 Mbps
Samsung S3 get 140 Mbps
All test on 5GHz AC wireless.
your cellphone does matter smile.gif

What does your care@unifi page state your accounts as? The old 50 Mbps or the new 100 Mbps? Maybe they haven't activated it yet? Is in the queue of jobs?. Call 100 and ask the CS.

Received this email and sms yesterday

Initially I also did not achieve 300Mbps. As I had read through the thread v34, I did some troubleshooting from all the tips given to people in the same boat and found our that it was my LAN cable problem. It was rated as Cat 6 but I bought that cable many years ago. Got a new one this morning and voila.... rclxm9.gif turbo-ed! drool.gif

Thank you all who contributed the troubleshooting tips. rclxms.gif

It took me many days reading to catch up but it was worth it! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

I'm still catching up in v35. laugh.gif

Hi guys just one question:
I try to downgrade my current package from rm179(50mbps) to rm129 for 100mbps, but the TM point guys say I need to cancel my package first then re-apply again after 24 hours under the same name.

Is this true or he is telling lies just to avoid me from downgrading my package.

TM has turbo-ed my speed to 500mbps but I'm receiving only 250mbps max even on my 5Ghz network. I'm suspecting the BTU might be bottlenecking. Can I ask TM to replace a newer version of BTU since mine was many years ago.

BTU: Alcatel-Lucent I-240G-P
Router: Asus AC55UHP
Range Extender: TP-Link RE450

Tested on iPhone 7+ right in front of my router as I don't have any gadgets with Ethernet port at the moment.

Please dont expecting that you can get full turbo speed using WIFI sweat.gif sweat.gif and with a 2x2 phone sweat.gif , your current router wifi only max out about 350Mbps and your range extender Will decrease wifi throughput Extender. And its not your GPON BTU bottlenecking. BTW you doesn`t have a laptop?

Not surprising at all. Change your router. Refer to 1st page, 1st post, green text, for list of compatible routers and other general info.
