haha. not really. but it has to be extracted anyway cause it has decayed.  sweat.gif
the ortho already told me which four teeth need to be extracted, but im still waiting for final instruction.

plus, i have underbite problem, so most probably the two of my lower teeth need to be first extracted before the top ones.

ic... then there must be a reason y ur ortho decided not to extract your teeth yet. u have to b confident. did you ask your ortho when he/she plan to extract your teeth?

From my observation, he's away 25% of the time. Normally i make appointment 1 month in advance. Even after making appointment, sometimes will receive notification to reschedule appointment cause Dr. How will be away. He always attends seminar, talk, conference, training to keep himself up to date with latest technology. It's a good thing.

The staff at the clinic advised me to make an appointment for Monday. But I'd prefer to do the braces at the end of the week so that I have a weekend to get used to the pain and new diet. blush.gif

Actually i'm quite fed up with all the rescheduling. I'm supposed to extract my wisdom tooth tomorrow morning. I've already informed my boss that I'll be taking MC this week. My bf already took half day leave tomorrow to fetch me to the clinic. My mom already took leave to cook for me after the surgery.

Jst now the staff from Dr. How's called me saying Dr. How is having a meeting with minister tomorrow morning and my appointment need to be rescheduled. So last minute...

It's not easy to get a nice available slot unless u make an appointment far in advance. Actually it's not that painful, I did it on a Wednesday. I don't find any problem with that. If you want to do it as soon as possible, just that up the slot suggested by the staff.

Finally got my wisdom tooth extracted yesterday. Dr. How's meeting was canceled last minute.

It's not as scary as I imagined. Phew... I was really nervous before the surgery.

Most girls like shopping biggrin.gif
But I prefer to stay at home and sleep as much as I can. The wound is still bleeding. Wonder how long will it take to stop bleeding.

Dr. How said can give up to 5 days MC but 3 days is enough for me. This Friday is public holiday ma biggrin.gif

I think it's only applicable for wisdom tooth extraction with surgery.

Hi all,

I'm contemplating in having braces. Hmm...as the saying goes, 'Ignorance is Bliss'. Only after consulting a ortho, then learned i've got a problem. To keep story short, was advised to do by 1st doctor, but needed to have extraction of two lower teeth. Then was referred to another doc to extract but commented the tooth lower teeth's root is long. So i got scared. Then seek second opinion, Dr How. He said no need extraction wor. Put the braces first, and then see how progress. Confused. 1st doc is conventional metal braces costing RM4K++, Dr How's self ligitating ones are RM6k++. Gosh....I'm a working, so my pockets gonna be a larg hole. Well, still in consideration. My friends all laughing and commented preferably don't do braces. Sigh...still scratching my head

Conventional braces normally require extraction, while self-ligating ones do not require extraction in most cases. The payment can be done in installment basis so it won't be a too heavy financial burden for you.

Many of my friends also said that I do not need braces. You should know your own need. If you think you need the treatment, you should go for it. I believe most of us here did or are doing braces with no regret.

If you feel you need to get braces, just do it! Some people dont understand why we get braces... dah la mahal, take 1.5 - 2 yrs somemore... and plus working adult lagi... but the result will be worth it... i just started wearing braces... i regretted for not wearing it earlier but cannot complain la, budget didnt allow it... but now ok la pay by installment... so not that "parah" sangat... but i really cant wait until the day my braces kena take out... hehe...
