If you feel you need to get braces, just do it! Some people dont understand why we get braces... dah la mahal, take 1.5 - 2 yrs somemore... and plus working adult lagi... but the result will be worth it... i just started wearing braces... i regretted for not wearing it earlier but cannot complain la, budget didnt allow it... but now ok la pay by installment... so not that "parah" sangat... but i really cant wait until the day my braces kena take out... hehe...

My appt is being pushed to today. 2 days ago, the bracket on my last molar fell out when i brush my teeth int he morning.

Now the wire is there... irritates abit.

Dr How is going to be unhappy. All together, i hav 2 loosen brackets.

I oso went yesterday to Dr How's... I waited like 1 hour or maybe more... and i went there also to glue my bracket that came off the night before... what time were you there? Haha...

oh mine was noon time... haha.. but he didnt say anything la when i went there... but i asked him some questions like when will he extract my teeth and stuff because i wanted to prepare myself and know exactly what i will go through... seems like he thought i was too rushing for the treatment... maybe the way i spoke made him misunderstand me haha...

i'm new to braces too...! It's been like 2 weeks already since I was "braced", now no feeling already... first week got la, the teeth were a bit lose... my upper and lower teeth cant be shut like it was before braces... first week, couldnt eat anything... apart from congee, can only eat soft food... but now can eat fried chicken but still have to be careful... if not like me, one of my bracket came off just 2 days ago...

Added on June 3, 2010, 7:59 pmoh yeah, i get mouth ulcer easily even before I had braces... but since I consume vitamin B complex with zinc, the ulcer doesnt grow big... it will stay small and dissappear in few days... oh yeah Anespian, do you get cuts from the braces?

I agree with NikkiDaTeddy about eating food... I do that too... use fingers or utensils to cut food into smaller chunks, then only chew... i guess that is also healthy for us.. eat smaller piece and slower... good for digestion hehe.. smile.gif

Gosh...i don't even know Damon got Damon 3 & 3mx. Am i the oldest here who got braces at 30?! Aikss...I got the transparent 1 instead of metal so extra $$. So its from my paycheck....sob sob...Just saw my credit card bill...nearly fall off my chair..I should have pester my parents when small....then no need to fok out on my own now...hehehe

Anespian, You are not alone... haha...

hlee09:
I just decided to go with the metal damon since it produces faster result.. somemore in my age maybe will get married in the middle.. i pun tak kisah about the metal damon braces... will worry about it when the wedding happens... the invisible one did you mean ceramic ones?? I think ppl can also see it and i chose metal one instead of ceramic ones cuz i dont want it to stain with the curry or anything (you know our malaysian foods are soooo yummy...)... and i break things easily so metal one suit me better la... if you want the ceramic, just go for it... follow your heart.. you will get the results also but maybe longer time according to Dr How... For me, I want the result to be faster cuz scared wedding in the middle of these 2 yrs...

I'm in my late 20s too touching 30 very soon too.. wow... feel glad that there are a bunch of late 20s who are in the same boat and willing to share their experiences!

i read in the forum and in some article saying that if you are wearing Damon braces, teeth extraction is not required. I would just like to know if there is a case where the person is wearing Damon Braces but also required to extract 4 teeth?

hlee09 & leng_leng: Thanks for the info!

Dr told me that i need to extract 4 teeth (2 top & 2 bottom) eventhough am wearing Damon Braces but I forgot to ask Dr, I guess I was nervous when 2 of my upper teeth were extracted... Yeah I wore my braces for 1 month and then only he extracted the teeth with the reason mentioned by hlee09 about less pain after teeth extraction cuz he did mention that my roots were thick...

hlee09: so nice ah only need to extract 2 teeth... leng_leng oso not bad only 3.. hehe...

Again, I forgot to ask Dr about this question. Some doctors will do braces for top and bottom teeth on the same day. Some will only do the top bit and after few months baru start the bottom part. Like me, only top bit is braced at the minute... I wonder if anyone has asked Dr about it if you have such experience? Is there any reason to this?

After the teeth extraction, my gum is really itchy... wanna scratch but cant... the feeling is like when teeth are coming/growing out... u guys got such experience? ai... it doesn't hurt, it's just itchy...
