I think it's only applicable for wisdom tooth extraction with surgery.
*
May I know the cost of the surgery?

QUOTE(karynkhoo @ May 27 2010, 08:02 PM)
Conventional braces normally require extraction, while self-ligating ones do not require extraction in most cases. The payment can be done in installment basis so it won't be a too heavy financial burden for you.

Many of my friends also said that I do not need braces. You should know your own need. If you think you need the treatment, you should go for it. I believe most of us here did or are doing braces with no regret.
*
My friends and relative also said that I don't have to do braces and there's no problem with it.
I think it's because I'm hiding my teeth most of the time so they dont really see the problem.

QUOTE(tomatonz @ May 28 2010, 10:00 AM)
If you feel you need to get braces, just do it! Some people dont understand why we get braces... dah la mahal, take 1.5 - 2 yrs somemore... and plus working adult lagi... but the result will be worth it... i just started wearing braces... i regretted for not wearing it earlier but cannot complain la, budget didnt allow it... but now ok la pay by installment... so not that "parah" sangat... but i really cant wait until the day my braces kena take out... hehe...
*
I also regret didn't do it earlier le. doh.gif
It wasn't about the money issue, more like self-contemplating.

This year, I made it my resolution and I did it!!! thumbup.gif
It's always the hardest to kick-off something.

Normal price RM650. Discounted price RM500 for Dr. How's braces patients.

Very well said~ rclxms.gif

More and more working adults coming on board. So dont be shy about it. The teeth are yours and not ur friends or relatives. They dont understand how u feel when u cant smile widely like the rest of the people. However, if financially allow now, why dont go for it?

We only do it now bcos we were financially tight when we were younger. Now that we're working already, why not? And if u realise, there are more and more ppl opting for perfect smile. So trust me, u will not regret after putting on braces.

Cheers...

The last time when i see him with a fallen bracket, he says, "oh...i dont like to hear that".
hahaha...

Added on June 3, 2010, 9:15 amWent to see Dr. How yesterday. I think i was lucky. Waited for about 30mins only then got everything done within 10mins.

Dr.How changed my upper wire, removed powerchain that connects to my screw (at my gum), did some re-positioning and no need to put rubberband on my upper jaw edy.

Whatever at bottom will still remain which included rubberband and wire.

Hi all. After some convincing from Dr How, I've now been 'braced'. Now sulking cause not looking forward to my credit card bil. heheehe.

Lots of saliva and can't eat hard food. i'm so gonna miss red meat. Anyone care to share initial experiences what its like. I need to get used to quickly. BTW, procedure was fast yesterday evening.

i'm new to braces too...! It's been like 2 weeks already since I was "braced", now no feeling already... first week got la, the teeth were a bit lose... my upper and lower teeth cant be shut like it was before braces... first week, couldnt eat anything... apart from congee, can only eat soft food... but now can eat fried chicken but still have to be careful... if not like me, one of my bracket came off just 2 days ago...

Added on June 3, 2010, 7:59 pmoh yeah, i get mouth ulcer easily even before I had braces... but since I consume vitamin B complex with zinc, the ulcer doesnt grow big... it will stay small and dissappear in few days... oh yeah Anespian, do you get cuts from the braces?

At most 1 week after bonding of braces, the teeth behind should b able to chew like normal. Just tat front teeth feel a bit weak, cannot bite hard food. Have to cut food into smaller pieces first then send to those teeth behind to chew.

As for ulcer, I do get ulcer easily when the wire "grows" longer n poke my inner cheek. If u have the time, can go n ask Dr to cut it for u, else dental wax is a useful temporary solution.

The brackets also might cause ulcer, but I normally jst leave it until the inner wall of my lips get used to the brackets.

I'm prone to ulcer even b4 putting on braces. I was worried at first if i get even more ulcers. But to my surprise, actually i think i got lesser ulcer. I'm not sure about the rest but i guess i'm lucky la.

Dont worry about missing certain food. As u slowly get use of your braces, u will slowly be able to eat all kinds of food normally. Just way of eating will be different only. For eg: last time u can apple right of the fruits. Now u hav to cut it into small pieces then only put in ur mouth. Simply bcos ur front teeth are not strong enuff to bite food. IF eat KFC also, u cant hold the drumstick and rip off the meat frm there. Now u hav to use fingers or eating utensils to cut the meat off the bone then only put in mouth.

Hope u get the idea. Dont restrict yourself from eating. Cos U can still enjoy food!
