On M2U, under the Amex card, use the Pay Bills function. Search for MAXIS. Put the account number when asked. Pay during weekends.

I had an issue with my cash back last month. Used amex to make payment towards my Shopee pay later twice. Saturday transaction did and posted on same day was ok and Cashback received.

Sunday also used it but transaction date Sunday but posted on Monday date and didn't get Cashback

Transaction was done Sunday lunchtime

Anyone faced similar issue ?

Hi sifus,
I'm long time user of M2P Amex, still with measly 15k limit, but I don't mind since I only use for weekend cashback. Lately I'm always way over the 1k spending limit, thanks to the convenience of spaylater. Hence I would like to add the Ikhwan Amex.

My question is what is the most hassle-free way to apply for Ikhwan Amex ? I saw some posts about splitting credit limit with M2P. I don't mind going to the branch to apply if I can get it done fast.

Write a letter to Card Centre requesting to convert part of existing credit line from Malayan Banking Bhd to Maybank Islamic Bhd.
Together with application form, I/C, Income documents.
Email to Card Centre.

If your income has been improved substantially since last credit review, Card Centre will give a new credit line for Islamic CC instead of conversion.

Just sharing that I just received my card. I found out that one can apply through MAE app, which is great as it is more secure. It is a little buggy, took a few tries to submit successfully, but I'm really surprised to received the approval within 1 hr, on a Sat night. Received the card 2 working days later. Credit limit is different from M2P.

console.gif I suggest that if you’d like a definitive explanation, the most direct approach is to contact Maybank’s support channels:

Maybank Group Customer Care (MGCC) – 24/7
Within Malaysia: 1-300-88-6688
Outside Malaysia: +603-7844 3696
Email (Credit Card Centre): mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my

Alternatively, you may submit an enquiry through Maybank2u via the ‘Contact Us’ section or Live Chat. They will be the only party able to confirm why the cashback cycle differs from other Maybank cards rclxms.gif rclxm9.gif

For those with Maybank credit cards (conventional or Islamic), after performing a transaction (pin, contactless and online), do you still receive SMS transaction alert?

Starting from last week or so, I did not receive any SMS transaction alert.

You should receive a notification from MAE.
Check your MAE App - Notifications - Activities.

For this particular card, they have "time sensitive" cashback. ie cashback on ramadhan and syawal month is different from other normal month.

Thank you for sharing your opinion.

I am just wondering whether some of us are still receiving SMS transaction alert, after performing a transaction with Maybank credit cards.

I am also curious whether it is possible to still maintain to receive SMS transaction alert, by calling Maybank Card CS, or sending a application form via e-mail to Maybank.

Well, for me, the phone installed with MAE is safely kept at my home. The phone that I carry with does not have any banking apps installed, except a eWallet app loaded with very small amount of money just enough for QR payment.

I just feel that it is just not safe to carry a phone installed with many banking apps wherever I go.

Thus, I really need to rely on SMS transaction alerts, to be informed of any unauthorized credit card transactions at all times.

better start now or you should already have adjusted your mobile banking apps through your main phone.

BNM already forcing the industry with their security guidelines since 2022.

no matter how you argue with your reasoning, the major theme: financial fraud, is getting more advance and notorious.

// Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) security guidelines for financial fraud focus on improving financial institutions' security, mandating stricter controls, and promoting public awareness.

Key measures include a shift from SMS-based OTPs to more secure authentication, limiting online banking to one device, and having financial institutions collaborate with law enforcement and the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC). Banks must also follow a policy for fair treatment of victims and have processes for reporting and handling fraudulent transactions. //

by removing SMS-based messaging, it also saved the FI on cost to manage/subscribe SMS services. of course, the cost will be shifted to mobile app's security measures instead.

p/s: BNM | ABM

At all time! No need so miserable lah.
Check transactions at M2U / MAE App every few days is good enough.
Can always dispute transaction after the monthly statement is released.
