Anytime not limited to weekend.

The use AMEX to settle SPaylater debt on Sat/Sun.

Easily RM1000/month.

But Spaylater has 1.5% processing fee. It’s not free.

It is now FOC if you choose to fully settle in coming statement.
Normally I settle the unbilled balance in advance.

1.5% surcharge (now waived since January) but with 5% cashback, net ~3.5%. Not many other credit cards can offer you >3% cashback for normal retail spendings.

think of it this way

use spaylater 0% to delay immediate payment temporarily, so that you can strategize to repay during weekend with m2c amex.

by doing so, you won't be burden by spending urge/needs (eg 1.1, 2.2, 3.3, etc special day promos) vs utilizing m2c amex cb.

So these merchants support Spaylater.

Ok good point. Meaning we only pay the price for the item right? No additional fee to shopee?

Next question I have is, I have just activated spaylater but apparently your suggestion above only work on special spaylater. The activation only applies to seller. How about buyer like us? We just pay using the spaylater method? And if I understood correctly it only work if the seller scan our barcode right? This is based on my observation when I play around with the app. Scanning seller barcode does not entitle for the 0% processing or whatever fees. Pls do correct me if I’m wrong. Thank you 🙏

spaylater is a credit offer to you. subject to approval and certain credit limit.

for seller, up to them to enrol spaylater or not.

I haven't explored spaylater for offline merchants. only within shopee merchants.

last I tried with bhp x spaylater offer, I show qrcode for bhp to scan. then I can switch my payment option to spaylater.

Most of the SPayLater/ShopeePay merchants: The cashiers scan your SPayLater/ShopeePay QR. If SPayLater, you need to confirm the number of instalments to complete the payment (FOC only if no instalment). Eg Mr DIY, Econsave, Ecoshop, Guardian.

There are some merchants you need to scan their Duitnow QR and pay. Eg Big Pharmacy.

There was 7 pages of SPayLater merchant list (>100 merchants) at Shopee App a few months ago (not available now). Mostly F&B and pharmacy.

Sorry, what do you mean by offline merchant? You mean pumping petrol at the station and use spaylater? We cannot pay for petrol probably except for voucher.

Why not?
You go to petrol station, tell the cashier you want to pay by using ShopeePay (yes ShopeePay, not SPayLater, they only know ShopeePay). He has a device to scan your ShopeePay/SPayLater QR code. That's it.
