Newbie here so got some questions, I have the gold cards and it's expiring soon,
1. Will I lost my remaining points after my card is expired?
2. And I'm looking to upgrade my gold cards to platinum, but as far of what I see, there is no additional benefits for platinum comparing to gold, still the same Points and Cashback, anyone know any other difference?

1. No. It will just carry forward to the new (replacement) card.
2. Extra travel insurance benefit. Refer here for the insurance.

travel insurance is super important if you are a very unlucky person

Eg. your baggage is lost by airlines, your flight is delayed >8 hours, the country has earthquake, tsunami, you walk and fell down and need hospitalisation

the travel insurance cost is 1% of your entire trip costs. by annual family plan lagi cheap

Is the travel insurance from the platinum card generally good?
Or still better to get a separate travel insurance?

Travel insurance from credit cards cover your flight only.
If you want an insurance to cover your trip (eg medical, money loss etc) beyond the flight, you still need to buy a travel insurance.

To me it is definitely worth it. You can get RM50 cashback from your amex card in one month.

Only if you plan your spending 1k/month = 12 months x RM50 cashback = 600 yearly
