Wondering if anyone’s Amex was charged a RM25 service tax on 1st Jan? It’s definitely not my card’s expiry month. In fact I have just redeemed points to offset service tag two months ago.
Don’t think there’s any new service tax rule?

No official announcement from Maybank on change of SST yet. For my case, only happened to M2 AMEX and FCB VS. Just KIV for a few days till Maybank Card Centre will detect the error and reverse it.

I've got both Amex from Maybank2Kard (visa been cancelled when SST was reintroduced) and Barcelona, both did not get charged this RM25.

Got charged RM25 x 2 for both cards today/yesterday. I know SST supposed to go from 6% to 8%, but nothing about whether credit card service tax gonna be affected or not.

QUOTE(xiaoxiaoshen @ Jan 3 2024, 03:18 PM) johorpay any CB (weekend) or point (weekday)? p.s: not able to use search topic today....error. 1) think logically. does it sound like a government service? 2) does government service payment eligible for CB? again, no need search lowyat forum. go find & read from maybank website. 3) to be sure, find out the mcc used by johorpay gateway.

The person filled up the application for me on the spot. All I had to do is submit my income document via email to her after that.

maybank updated their m2c cashback t&c yesterday.... seems to have some major changes of benefits (mostly better!) TBC until mbb issue an official announcement*: 1) Removed Payment via JomPAY and FPX from exclusions 2) Removed govt spend & utilities exclusion table 3) Removed ewallet exclusion clause4) Added transaction date difference due to timezone into exclusions5) Explanation of min RM1.00 cb earning *Assuming min 21 days notification, likely these changes will take effect from Feb 2024. p/s: Not sure if this copy will be final or WIP prior to announcement/effective date.
