Just received maybank invitation email yesterday to upgrade to reserve card. I been holding only amex2 just the Amex card alone, not sure if it is a good to go, any advice from all the sifu here?

I refused to upgrade to platinum because they need me to take both which = SST x 2 that’s why I just keep at gold only.

Maybe a bit out of context. Maybank has any Visa or MC that is good for both retail and online? If for cashback purpose the Amex is very under utilise as need to time for weekend spend in specific store that accept Amex.

Use M2 Amex to buy TNG PINs at Lazada if available, or pay Shopee's SPaylater debt.

Use TNG wallet at any Duitnow QR merchants, so 5% savings.

Use SPayLater to pay at some ShopeePay merchants, 1.5% surcharge, so end up around 3.5% savings, better than most of credit cards.

Seems like Tiger is being crazy strict with Paypal purchases with Amex.
Normally i pay hosting bills ( less than 10 USD) every 3 months.
Yesterday i paid a bill worth USD 50 , it went through, but after that i couldn't purchase anything with Paypal anymore, card declined no matter the amount or merchant.
But the same Amex can continue to be used on Shopee

So i waited 24 hrs & today i could spend again. Didn't bother call CS

i think their system detect unusually high pattern & restrict further spending for 24 hrs...what a pain in the ***

not uncommon. a lot of frauds involves overseas spending. i had once facebook frauds almost 10x in succession in usd, total almost 10k. just recently uber fraud in gbp twice before i manage to block the card.

Currently can I still cancel my M2 visa card for SST reason? my card approval is in 2015. cannot tahan temptation to use the card for installment payment. better cancel it.

you can cancel for any reasons

if sst already charged, dont use it thereafter, then quickly terminate the card and get them to cancel the sst (as no further usage due to termination)

if sst havent charged, cancel straight


be mindful to clear all outstanding

maybank careline cannot call in...got others way to cancel cc?

Write a letter, sign and email to Card Centre.
