Still waiting to be turboed in seremban area. Planning to change my dlink trash can to asus 88u. Saw in msia cost about rm1.3k but on taobao  it's half the price. Very tempting. U guys know if there is any difference other than the warranty and plug type? Tq

Okay... I get my Ruby Pack Plus 2 (RM 40) change to Ruby Pack Plus (RM 30), but my billing detail is still the same RM 40... I assumed after every change of plan or pack, the new price will begin next billing cycle or immediately??!! Or they just change the plan but not the price??

My torrent speed seem normal... Getting this speed from a router limited to 100mbps port...

if i am you... will choose option 4.

currently the quota still has not enforce yet until end of this year..

we all know that later will be another 50mbps plan at RM99. once available to subs, just upgrade to that plan.  hopefully no quota for that plan too.

if there is quota, then upgrade to 100mbps @ 129.

if tm doesnt allow, switch to maxis.
*
IF TM doesn't allow, you already stuck with 2 years contract. By the time it is too late for you to jump to Maxis and you have to stay on for 2 years.

I'm currently using 50Mbps RM180. I'm living at a high-rise. If the infra can't support 500Mbps for the turbo-ed upgrade, what will TM compensate?
*
I don't think they will compensate. TM already save their ass by saying upgrade base on technical ability.

Wait for ASUS promotion then it will cost lesser.

China units come with China Plug and China warranty only.

No. The total numbers of 5GHz channel legally available to be used as it differs from countries. Asus hardcoded it into the router and there's no way to remove it. Less channel available means you are more likely to have inteference in case of environment where there is multiple 5GHz broadcast around.

Channels legally available in China is lesser than in Malaysia.

Does it apply to only China models or those in USA also the same? Meaning it's region locked? So if around my place no one uses 5ghz frequency then it should be ok?

Apply to all devices around the world. Technically, I wouldn't call it region lock but the baseband are hardcoded to respect the local law where it was sold.

Yes it would be fine if no one is using 5GHz around you but it will change in thee near future when dual band adoption rate increases.

Yes, Its better than wireless N unstable speed ranging from 0.12 Mbps to 70+ , and some of the time cannot achieve 70+ even when very near to router

How is that? I thought you have to add  RM30 to RM129 100M to get Ultimate STB with Ultimate pack? You mean after that RM159, they still giv a RM30 discount? Then there is no difference between with and without STB? You need to see bill details to make sure.

Edit:
Maybe because you already had Ultimate pack and STB before so you get to keep it without the extra RM30 hence the discount.
