I signed up for 30M package last year for RM139, so currently still got a year's contract, I wonder if I'm eligible to change to Unifi Pro 100M for RM129 or not. Anyone switched plan before?
*
You will get 300Mbps once your line is Turbo-ed, why wanna move back to 100Mbps with just additional RM 10?

I know, I can always get better one someday, but I seriously cannot stand the 2.4Ghz, even with dir842, this morning only get 0.12mbps

* default settings too, not sure why even though signal strength is maxed
*
2.4Ghz is quite unpredictable. Below are Speedtests at 2.4 & 5Ghz at a restaurant in Midvalley. UniFibiz 100Mbps.

But yours is a house right? You shouldn't be affected by interference that much cause you only have 2 immediate neighbours to contend with.

You are eligible. But if you are scheduled to be turbo'ed before the end of the year (Phase 1 turbo) and have already gotten the e-mail, I recommend that you wait.

Also consider that your contract will be renewed for another 2 years and since you've just got 1 year to go it is best to wait it out. You are considered an existing long time customer so should get the turbo before next year.

I switched over to the 100M RM129 plan because I just got my 30M RM139 Unifi in July 2018 and my turbo will almost definitely be coming June 2019 since they will turbo new customers last.

3x the download and 5 x the upload right now for RM129 was too much to pass up on for me instead of having to wait for an undetermined amount of time.

Another 2 year contract is no big deal to me since only 2 months have elapsed before I made the change.

Hmmm it seem to be making sense to wait, just I feel okay with 30M my current usage and 100M should be enough until next upgrade or price drop came in future...
Yeah, now I'm not sure...haha

My bill is RM169 +sst RM179. 30 Mbps high rise too. Contract expires next year.

Not eligible for turbo upgrade. Max speed at apartment building 30 or 50 Mbps only, heard no 100 Mbps at high rise so me not upgrading to the RM129 plan.

What the others in our same boat do?

1) Stay same package, same price. No turbo ever.
2) Stay same package, asking for reduced  price ( Can aa?)
3) Upgrading to RM129 100 Mbps knowing can only get half the speed at best but at least no quota, and cheaper plan

4) Downgrade to RM79 30 Mbps with quota + 2 new contract years
5) Migrate to Maxis Fibre Rm89 30 Mbps no quota, add RM10 unlimited calls (my floor has no maxis fibre yet, levels below me got)
6) Migrate to TIME (My place not within coverage)
7) Something else entirely
Currently I'm using Unifi stb as my Kodi box. If downgrade, need to buy own stb or watch on laptop and really need to plan quota for my streaming viewing

For no.4, I'm waiting to see how much the add-on quota would be priced. Need to wait till next year to know.

No 5 is appealing for the price alone
*
if i am you... will choose option 4.

currently the quota still has not enforce yet until end of this year..

we all know that later will be another 50mbps plan at RM99. once available to subs, just upgrade to that plan. hopefully no quota for that plan too.

if there is quota, then upgrade to 100mbps @ 129.

if tm doesnt allow, switch to maxis.

after long consideration, i'm going to migrate my current unifi pro 100mbps ( not yet turboed to 800mbps ) rm 229 to new unifi pro 100mbps rm 129. save rm 100 per month is a lot and i think 100mbps will be enough for my usage for next 2 years.. go to tm point today at 3 pm and she told me to check after 24 hours for the plan to change. no need for the technician to come.
*
So far i read it seems that if you want the turbo upgrade fast, need to call them and ask to switch to cheaper plan, and next you know...boommm....turbo speed upgraded done for you (even if you no longer want the turbo) ...Tm don't lose RM100 from you every month

Okay, thanks for the reply. I didn't receive any emails or notification from TM though, and I'm not sure if my area is eligible for turbo upgrade, that's why I'm considering to switch. I signed up 30M RM139 last year December, so it's like a year and three months more on the contract.

i don't know about that since i live at kuala terengganu, i don't think the upgrade in this area will be fast such as big city like kl. so i just migrate it for cheaper price.

I'm currently using 50Mbps RM180. I'm living at a high-rise. If the infra can't support 500Mbps for the turbo-ed upgrade, what will TM compensate?

No lol, if Cat6 i can get 500Mbps , i wouldn't mind now, i figured how to route but not the nicest.

Update : DWA182 on AC gets me 282.45 Mpbs  and 106.96 Mbps, seems pretty good ?

BTW your pc usb port USB 3.0 Or USB 2.0?

Still no news yet. If you have better options like TIME and Maxis, then go for it.
