I'm using previous 30Mbps@RM189 package and my contract has expired. Thinking of upgrade to 50Mbps@RM99 package. What is the meaning of no stb box? Do i need to return my existing stb or just ignore the no stb part?

IF they need me to return my stb, what is the alternative that i should purchase for watching unifi tv?

Thanks
so i can't go to tm point during the weekend to do the upgrade? was plannign to go tonight / tomorrow for the 50Mbps@RM99 package though

The 50mbps is still unofficial i think. Not out yet. Try to wait next week and see if any announcement.

Provided your tv can install and run the Unifi Play Tv Apps.
The user interface is different between the STB and the Apps.

After about two weeks with Turbo 800, these are several findings that I hope would assist you guys in making decision:

1. Turbo 800 is best suit for those who really do downloads, with the download rate of 90-100MB/sec you'll be able to download
1GB in 10 seconds
25GB in 4 minutes
100GB in 17 minutes
1TB needs around 3 hours

2. Youtube streaming straight away will go 4K quality if you use 4K TVs (without previously need to choose quality). The videos are instantly played and you could just jump to any part of the videos without any buffering.

3. Website surfing? As expected, the pages just pop up very quick and for locals one near instant, provided you computer are high end with abundant of RAMs.

4. IPTV streaming like the one I currently subscribe to European server loads very fast and immediately choose Full HD (1920 x 1080) quality. I just wish they offer 4K IPTV. No buffering with IPTV.

5. However all these only possible with gigabit router and ethernet/wireless cards. Otherwise you won't really enjoy these Turbo 800 capability.

For me, it's overkill as I mainly just streaming nowadays and only occasionally do downloads. I'm still waiting for TM to announce new packages for 300 and 500Mbps as I think these packages are more suit to my needs.

But till then, I'll just enjoy this Turbo 800 cool2.gif

Thanks for the summary. Since I'm already paying for RM200 for 100mbps, I'll stick with it with Turbo speed. I'm already impressed with 300mbps can do. Still stuck with 300mbps due to wireless hardwares limitation.

unifi 50 pacakage is dumb without free 600min calls, if add that +RM20 = it become within RM10 to 100mbps pacakge. That is Stupid. Would have been fine if they include free calls like 100mbps but at RM99 price.

the reason i'm sticking to <100Mbps package. existing using 50Mbps

1) besides downloading games in steam, i have nothing to download. everything can be steam at 1080 which is more than sufficient for me.

2) same as 1, 1080 is more than enough. my eye is not tat good.

3) lousy 5 years old pc with no plan to upgrade in coming 5 years. but pages still pop up wtihin 2 second, which is acceptable for me.

4) same as 2.

5) default unifi router can support up to 100Mbps right?

i think the package is fine for most people. to be honest, how much do you value the 600 minutes when everyone have handphone? heck, i even disconnect my dect phone to save power.

Went to TM point this morning. Existing customer with or without contract can apply for this new 100mbps package. The only downside for under contract users is that the contract will be renewed for 24 months. No penalty will be charged. They will record your application and process will be done on next week as the new 100mbps package isn't ready yet in their system.
