so if I downgraded this month from 50mbps to 30mbps, I will still get 500mbps?!  blink.gif

Contract ended... Downgrading done on 8th after I received turbo email last month...  hmm.gif

You better check with TM properly. Later they say downgrade will not get turbo then you will regret big time.
I will rather get turbo-ed speed first then only downgrade the package.

@soonwai,

I tested the Innatech RGX4400H LAN to LAN speeds via iperf last night.

MacBook Air 13 via thunderbolt to gigabit adapter to Alienware 15 LAN port ( via additional 2 gigabit TPLink switches as they were physically 2 locations - possibly about 70-80m of Cat5e cabling between the 2 computers or more) and I can confirm that the average speeds were ~ 720Mbits/s. Max speeds were close to 800Mbps.

So it's definitely gigabit LAN ports. I will post this also in ur other RGX 4400H thread in case the question comes up.
*
What about the WiFi speed of this router?

Edit: Nevermind. I found the WiFi speed. It can connect to 780Mbps.
Look like this router can support turbo-ed speed up to 500Mbps.

But honest speaking this model wifi is not so stable sometime. And i hate this model because it force ppl use @unifi behind the wifi SSID name. Haha,
*
For 2.4Ghz SSID, you use @Maxis then become @Maxis@Unifi
For 5Ghz SSID, you use @Time then become @Time@Unifi

refresh contract for their lousy router? no thanks. Haha.  brows.gif

If you are going to use their service for another few years, why not?
If you buy your own router, you will also use their service for another few years.

Just chat with the TM Chat, she mentioned got 2 phases
Phase 1 15/8 till Dec 2018
Phase 2 Jan 2019

She asked me to check my email, and the date mentioned from 15/8 so I'm under Phase 1.

Is anyone else out there under Phase 2? so that email is standard to 15/8 just to con us?

Just treat it as your upgrade is on 31 December 2018.
You have 136 days to the upgrade.
If they upgrade you on an earlier date, that will be a double bonus biggrin.gif

There is 2.4 and 5GHz on the Innatech, but that is a real bad router which is old, and I would change it, if I were you.
*
Between the RG4400 and the DIR-850L, which one is better?
Both also got Gigabit LAN ports and WiFi speed can reach 780Mbps on 5Ghz.

I would opt for RG4400. DIR850L is really a trashcan for me. But yet the worst TM router I have ever used is the Archer C1200.
*
QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Aug 18 2018, 12:15 PM)

RG4400. But, I would recommend you switch to the Archer C7 v4, if you want something more stable, and that can support 800Mbps on 5GHz.

*
QUOTE(hatakeka @ Aug 18 2018, 12:26 PM)
DIR-850L for me. Superb range(like seriously , router is upstairs , I go down nextdoor to my neightboor still got signal ) and I always get full speed.

also there's this post on reddit : https://www.reddit.com/r/malaysia/comments/...scended/e46hw4o

this guys claims he gets full 800mbps on DIR-850L.
*
QUOTE(nikrizal @ Aug 18 2018, 12:33 PM)
DIR-850L wireless signal is poor, I got it free from TM upon TQ Surprise last year, then sold it in Mudah for RM200 😆
*
Thank you very much for your replies.
I have both routers and I find that both are equally good to my standard.
Both LAN ports are able to connect to my pc on Gigabit and WiFi to my laptop on 780Mbps.
My router is located upstairs family hall in a double storey house.
WiFi signal is weaker in the kitchen located at the back of the house.

If I were to make one unit as an AP. Which one should be the main router and which one should be the AP?

Whichever doesn’t make a difference, but main router should be the DIR-850L.

Honestly, just get the TP Link Archer C7 v4. It is much newer and better than the D7.

What about the new DLink DR842 router?
Low cost no frill MU-MIMO router.

Which model works well with Unifi 300Mbps with Unifi Tv?
Is it easy to configure the router?
Which shop is selling this router and what price range?

guys, noob question. Using all TM supplied equipment, router D-Link DIR-850L. When using LAN cable, can achieve speed as given:

[attachmentid=9985453]

However, when using wifi, only able to achieve lower speed:

[attachmentid=9985454]

Need to change router?
*
What device you used to test the WiFi speed?

Just change your router already. I recommend the TP-Link Archer C7 v4 or v5. It is relatively inexpensive and very stable.

what do you have to say to that..

TM Product pricing is officially all over the place

I just checked my Account and found that I got Turbo-ed to 300Mbps at 11:45pm on 23 August.
Sad to say, TM router is hopeless.
Looking for a new router soon.
