QUOTE(ionStorm @ Aug 20 2018, 07:16 PM) ONU only got issue if the LAN port is not gigabit. Even then, at least should be able to hit 80-90 Mbps... which beg to question if TM should upgrade all ffth users to 100mbps first. VDSL2 or whatever on condo to 30-50mbps first b4 decide what to do next.

QUOTE(nikrizal @ Aug 21 2018, 07:14 PM) Latest info: - Massive upgrades 300,500 & 800 will commence come September and will continue by batches thru October, November and December - Priority will be given to existing UniFi subscribers. New applicants will have to wait till 2019 for their eligibility. I kinda curious how TM deal with very very old time FTTH user who got 850a BTU + orange 615 router. Replace both equipment? Or just replace BTU?

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Aug 22 2018, 08:19 PM) Just throw the orange router away. It is shit, and not worth implementing now. I was wondering if TM required to take back orange router to exchange new AC router or not. (currently I am on Asus 14UHP, it is a wireless-N and 2 more wireless-AP). So if wanna whole network to support I need to replace 3 devices. This post has been edited by Boldnut: Aug 22 2018, 08:22 PM

QUOTE(Dozz @ Sep 3 2018, 11:34 AM) Thank you for the suggestion, i will take a look on lelong later. i plan to hide all these cable inside the wall, do you think cat6a is the one to go? (future proof also) oh shopee! thanks Why dont just go pipe wiring? hide the a pipe in the wall, then buy a cheap Lan cable go through it. That way you can upgrade cable later even after 20yrs.

QUOTE(Nando's @ Sep 3 2018, 11:55 AM) But still have to knock the wall right? If want to upgrade cable in the future. Planning for my coming renovation as well yes,the whole point is put a 1.5/2inch diameter pvc pipe within walls, then run Cat6 cable inside it. For the exit point, you can have your pipe sligthly expose then you cover it with Pipe end cap to look nicer. So in future if wanna replace, remove the cover pull the cable out. I regret I do a cat6a in my wall, Cat6a is not guarranty 10gbps.(heck I am not even sure is cat6 or cat6a because I forgot) So if my internet gone faster in 10yrs, replacing it will require hacking again. I should have get creative back then and plan for long term. This post has been edited by Boldnut: Sep 3 2018, 06:57 PM

I think after all these turbo,
I need to complain to Goblin for Unifi 100mbps pricing @ 129 is a little too close to 300mbps pricing. I wanna downgrade to that package.

QUOTE(stinky @ Sep 6 2018, 05:09 PM) Done chatting with unifi. For existing customer that downgrade to RM129 package, 1) Contract 24 months 2) No new equipment. No warranty on old equipments. 3) If you have STB, can maintain the UNIFI TV though package does not provide STB. In this case, i might as well, apply new account. At least i get new equipments with warranty then just use my old STB. contract is usually they to tie you for the equipment cost.

That is Stupid. Would have been fine if they include free calls like 100mbps but at RM99 price.

QUOTE(wshoh @ Sep 7 2018, 04:39 PM) Looks like it. So for those who want speeds in excess of 100Mbps, the cheapest new user entry (in year 2018) to 300Mbps was if you took the 30Mbps plan (RM139 for 2 years contract) and wait for the turbo upgrade. For existing users, generally cheapest for 300 Mbps would be those on grandfathered UniFi VIP5 (RM149). Of course, there are lucky ones here who got even more discounts (lower than RM149). yup. currently I am on 30mbps + UnifiTV ruby pack + STD20(600min free calls) for RM159. (RM139+RM20) b4 I was on VIP5 I pretty much rejected every TM attempt to get me pay extra to upgrade, until Feb 2018 I joined the that 30mbps package. basically if u want a better deal from TM, do not accept any deal that require you to top up extra monthly fees.

QUOTE(wshoh @ Sep 7 2018, 07:02 PM) Legacy VIP5 users currently at 30 Mbps or higher who kiamsiap reject everything in due course will enjoice at least 300 Mbps (after turbo upgrade) at RM149 before SST without contract. Only 'lose' to those who subscribed to 30 Mbps at RM139 recently. And IIRC still have free unlimited TM to TM landline calls.
actually that is the main reason why I sub 30mbps this Feb 2018. Yup legacy VIP5 is TM to TM only. So if sub RM139+20 I get Free calls 600mins regardless to which telco. Because one of my relative just change to Maxis line @ end of 2017, calling him will cost money; phone bill alone already >RM10(add VIP5 bill =>RM159), might as well Sub RM139+20 package lol

QUOTE(KaizokuLuffy @ Sep 13 2018, 11:36 AM) Today i'll go to change my current 30mbps + STD20 RM159 to 100mbps RM129. Hope can get it, lazy to wait turbo which waiting like a silly and 300mbps is too much for me. existing 30mbps package got Set top box, can use watch TV with set top box. (STB) new 100mbps no Set top box. (Not sure if it is important to you or not). if can; can u please ask him regarding the STB. Also try use the STB if they somehow didnt take it back. biggest difference between existing 30mbps vs 100mbps now is the SET top box. I also on RM159 package, I might wanna follow ur footstep & pick 100mbps package if they allow me to keep Set top box to view my Ruby package.(Direct streaming, not via PlayTV app) This post has been edited by Boldnut: Sep 13 2018, 12:47 PM

QUOTE(shahie @ Sep 13 2018, 12:20 PM) but the order just now (as below) was for rm129 only... Set top box can use to view TV pack channels? (not playTV) thats the different between old 30mbps vs new 100mbps.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 13 2018, 03:14 PM) She wanted to remove Ruby for me to retain Ultimate but system didn't allow. So, she tried to remove Ultimate and retain Ruby, then it only prompted RM 10 discount, she asked if I'm OK. No, in fact she is requesting Turbo for me to be installed within 2 weeks time. Let's see. So your plan is how much and got what bundle with? STD20? What TV pack? what internet speed? TM soo confusing

QUOTE(cucubud @ Sep 13 2018, 04:43 PM) After turbo-ed, you'll be getting 300Mbps + Unifi Tv @ RM139. Now with 100Mbps + Unifi Tv + Voice @RM159. Eventually you'll be paying RM20 more for slower speed with Voice. If you want Voice, you could just add RM20 to your 30Mbps (turbo-ed to 300Mbps). If like that, then I not gonna upgrade my 30mbps line anymore haha. I tot fruitie was getting New non-turbo 100mbps + ruby + STD20 for RM129.

QUOTE(cucubud @ Sep 13 2018, 09:58 PM) As long as you are using the STB now, your new 100Mbps plan can continue to use the STB. No need to add RM30 to use the STB unless you want the Ultimate pack. there is a ruby/aneka/varnam pack on the new 100mbps package, have u actually tried those channels in those package to be viewed on STB directly. *without using the internet streaming?
