your old phone number (copper line) can be retained FOC, no need to pay monthly rental

on top of that, you will be given another new phone line by unifi (via VoIP)

I tot new rule is if u want to keep old number it will be used on the VoIP line, no more old copper line.

Anyone know is this rm 129 for 100mb only valid for 2 years or will it revert back to the original price after the 2 years contract?

My current unifi package is 50Mbps + Unifi TV = RM179.

Can I just go ask them to change my plan to this new RM129 plan? Considering this is an upgrade for me with cheaper price!

Meanwhile I am eligible for the turbo upgrade.

Should I wait for the turbo speed, or should I just give up and go for the Rm129 package? Dilemma here....anyone is in the same boat with me? LOL....

Thanks for the info.
Same case here, I am also eligible for turbo upgrade, don't know want to give up, sign for new contract or wait for better plans from other telco and jump.

Guys, 100 Mbps download/50 Mbps upload is plenty. If you don't know that you need the speed and aren't a genuine power user, you probably don't. Syiok sendiri or more money in pocket towards better router/mesh system/other goodies. RM50 savings x 12 months = RM600 annually; you are unlikely to feel a difference - have your non-turboed plans felt slow?

My brother in Singapore is on ViewQwest 1Gbps, admits that it is overkill.

Furthermore, if your usage is primarily through wireless devices (95% of people according to myself), 100 Mbps is definitely enough. It is enough to Netflix UHD (4K) on FOUR (4) screens simultaneously, to better illustrate.

Even 30 Mbps is enough for me to stream Spotify/Pandora simultaneously with 2 other screens on Netflix/Hulu on FHD plus FHD IP Camera.

I submitted the termination notice and got a reply from TM.

It says "for the termination to take place, customer is required to visit TM Point between day 31 to day 35 from termination notice date."

What if I didn't visit between day 31 and 35? Is this some tricks from TM to make people's life difficult?

same with me, if change now, can enjoy 2x speed with cheaper price,
but if want 10x speed, price no change, only thing is to wait, and wait and wait, maybe this year, maybe next year, maybe forever icon_idea.gif

I see. Good to know that.

Anyway, required to terminate my streamyx before register for unifi pro?
In between, necessary to wait 30 days to avoid some kind of penalty?

So troublesome if the wait is needed! vmad.gif

Smart TM, making so many people giving up existing discounts and free upgrade, and re-contract for 24 months with new T&C.

After my contract ends on Dec, must downgrade to this plan already. Too good to resist.

downgrade no need to pay penalty and no contract renewal after contract ended. so good.

I am sure this will be a permanent plan?

Totally agree here!
Yup, choice is easy for UniFi VDSL-ers who want the cheapest and don't need to retain/use the telephone line and TV packs nor care about torrenting/p2p, just switch to Maxis to get 30Mbps for downloads and uploads at RM89.

TM unifi basic RM79 + RM30 to remove 60GB cap (which is yet to be announced officially as at 6/9/2018) at RM109 will cost RM20 more than Maxis (RM89) but you do get some TV stuff and no torrenting/p2p concerns.

Lastly, if bandwidth and speed hungry but limited by VDSL, can try luck with MaxisONE Home Fibre RM129 package (100 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload) since they will go on best effort basis (no one here able to provide figures yet but I reckon will be 50 Mbps max for VDSL).

For me, undecided whether to stick with TM UniFi since I was given discount such that I pay RM129 for 30Mbps download / 10Mbps upload - which I can still live with.

Switching to Maxis at RM89 + paying RM25 to TM to retain phone will cost RM114 monthly, which is just RM15 savings but throws away the TV pack and gets me into a fresh 24 months contract.

Ahem with tm 30mbps you wont be able to seed as much of your torrent and consequently slower download speed... also when the upload saturated the ping all over the place and download also slow down..

i swapped to unifi 5 years ago. back then, no need to terminate streamyx.
this is because unifi comes with new fiber wiring to your house(assume that you are staying in landed house), while you can retain your old copper wiring

my opinion is, only terminate streamyx and your unifi installation is done so that no interruption to your internet usage

after you get your unifi installed and terminate your streamyx, you will still receive 2 bills every month
1 bill for copper line - the sewa bulanan will be RM0
1 bill for unifi

Alright, I shall follow your footsteps on this then!
Yup, to minimize the internet interruption, its best to do so, but to be honest, cant really do much with 1Mbps Streamyx...
Watching a 360p youtube video requires 10 seconds of PAUSE before starting the video! shakehead.gif

Thanks so much!
