Hi, Im using TP-Link AC1200 which is provided by TM, and connect with TP-Link homeplug, my modem on firsg floor and router on ground floor. I found that my router will almost everyday not connected to internet, but still can watch HyppTV programme, it usually will turn back to normal if I restart my router (not modem), it almost everyday and at least 2-3 times or more will have this situation. May I know this issue is because Im using home plug as the internet connection mighf not stable, or is my modem/settings have any faulty which will cause this issue?

Everyday need to restart at least one time is very trouble, sometimes it suddenly not connect to internet while Im sending files. I will off my router everyday b4 i go to off. Is it has anybody here facing same issue, and is it has any solution?

Thank you. smile.gif

you have both ultimate and ruby right ?

so they removed your ruby pack without informing ?

can you check via unifi portal activity and see if there is order modify ?

thanks.
*
My initial.plan was ruby only. Then upgrade speed and add on ultimate with free calls. No order for cancellation. I make any complains also. Maybe it's like what sis fruitie said earlier, it's TM way of standardizing packages ??

Well, still it's redundant with the overlapping Ruby. Once I get my 800Mbps then I will ask for price reduction, at least I want to remove the Ruby package.
I thought Vision Home got much earlier than us. Didn't know about the same time too. biggrin.gif
Eh, I thought yours is 30Mbps?
*
Yeah vison homes got 2 yrs back I think but theirs using the pole type
I'm at pearl132( phase 4 vision home) using underground cables, that's why the delay after countless complains to TM. I started with 30mb then upgraded to 50mb with rm10 top up

Nope......wifi protocol efficiency issue.

With that 1Gbps PHY link speed, your MAC layer speed probably around 500 - 600Mbps.

I guess we need to wait for 802.11AX router then lol
Asus RT-AX88U Wow
802.11ax (2.4GHz) : up to 1148 Mbps
802.11ax (5GHz) : up to 4804 Mbps

I'm not a bro la. laugh.gif
We only got UniFi last year's May and I relocated my 50Mbps from PJ to Seremban. Then last year can upgrade to 100Mbps with additional RM 10. That said, it wasn't a smooth upgrade because my whole taman only our house was using 50Mbps (the rest were 30Mbps) and when they got order from my account to upgrade to 100Mbps, it was quite challenging for them. After two technical teams tweaking outside and inside of my house only got the speed I requested. shakehead.gif

I'm quite pessimistic same thing will happen to my 800Mbps later, should be the only one in taman having this speed. doh.gif

I just checked my Account and found that I got Turbo-ed to 300Mbps at 11:45pm on 23 August.
Sad to say, TM router is hopeless.
Looking for a new router soon.

Nope. It is the router issue, not much you can do about it. Firmware ans hardware issues. Most people had this porhelm here with that router. Change your router to the TP-Link Archer C7 v5 or v4, and it will stop happening.

Not what the heck. TM only promised wired connection. Wireless is your problem, according to them anyway, so if you want something good, you have to change to a better router.

Does his BTU or router support the speed? Otherwise, call 100 and let them sort it out on their end.

Perhaps you meant this as a harmless joke but if you have the faintest idea of the background that ppl come from, I think it would be best to refrain from comments like that ๐Ÿ˜

And from what I've found so far, the TP-Link Archer C7 costs RM 350 leh

Chill bro, of course it's just a joke...

Facts is what you pay is what you get, if everyone wanna good router, of course the price also costly then. (Beside that model, still got many cheaper model for replacement.)
Otherwise, you can lodge complain to TM if you can proof that it's your BTU faulty (ask for replacement) or asking for new equipment (if under 12-mths warranty/ or renew contract)

Depends on them but if demand is there and people keep asking, I will put it up.
It does support the max speed of 867Mbps, but you wonโ€™t get it. Maybe 600-700Mbps max. The 867Mbps is just a theoretical lab maximum. The router is important, yes, but your device needs to be able to support the turbo speed as well.
Not working at the moment, server is either down or blocking the request.

I see then the deciding factor of wifi speed is not 2x2 itself? I saw the kill ac card in alienware is also 2x2 but can go up 1.6 or 1.7g if I rmb correctly. So if I change to 3x3 router and using the same 2x2 card Will the speed on wifi improve or since my wifi only have 2 antenna the extra 1 is wasted?

I can't get more than 400mbps if I am using wifi on 5GHZ with my smartphone. I'm on 800mbps and using Asus RT-AC1300UHP. I will test using LAN on my MacBook tonight to check.
I wonder if it's my smartphone bottleneck or something else. hmm.gif

normal, phone usually having single chain or dual chain wifi only.

not to mention, certain phone will automatically enter into power saving mode and this will further reduce the wireless reception and throughput.

Yup that's true.

Good no cheap, cheap no good tongue.gif In typical scenarios that is.

Made a report today. Will see what they say once they check outside the house + inside. Can expect they will suggest changing the router. It's likely that I'll ask for them to renew the contract to the new UniFi advance plan. Thought of changing to Maxis, since same infrastructure but TM is still king; unless you're lucky enough to be covered by TIME blink.gif
