Yup that's true.

Good no cheap, cheap no good  tongue.gif  In typical scenarios that is.

Made a report today. Will see what they say once they check outside the house + inside. Can expect they will suggest changing the router. It's likely that I'll ask for them to renew the contract to the new UniFi advance plan. Thought of changing to Maxis, since same infrastructure but TM is still king; unless you're lucky enough to be covered by TIME  blink.gif

TIME if for high rise buildings so far...
Renew contract is better and free...

QUOTE(twL @ Aug 24 2018, 12:45 AM)
Hi, Im using TP-Link AC1200 which is provided by TM, and connect with TP-Link homeplug, my modem on firsg floor and router on ground floor. I found that my router will almost everyday not connected to internet, but still can watch HyppTV programme, it usually will turn back to normal if I restart my router (not modem), it almost everyday and at least 2-3 times or more will have this situation. May I know this issue is because Im using home plug as the internet connection mighf not stable, or is my modem/settings have any faulty which will cause this issue?

Everyday need to restart at least one time is very trouble, sometimes it suddenly not connect to internet while Im sending files. I will off my router everyday b4 i go to off. Is it has anybody here facing same issue, and is it has any solution?

Thank you. smile.gif

Change the router.. the router provided by TM pretty incapable handling medium task..

If I'm not mistaken, its due to the ram and processor that cause the issue u facing. I was using the same model and frustrated from those issue hence lookup the net and changed router..

Satisfy.. no nd restart router, no internet, sluggish connection

I just checked my Account and found that I got Turbo-ed to 300Mbps at 11:45pm on 23 August.
Sad to say, TM router is hopeless.
Looking for a new router soon.

Thanks for the replies thumbsup.gif
At least I know 30M is not left behind
I am now on RYE2017 (Add RM10 to upgrade from 10M to 30M) still waiting to get TURBO
On the speed it could also be your wifi card which mine can only support up to 150M

The router list by Asus is really useful. Gonna go with TP Link Archer C3150 v2 & Asus PCE-AC88 for my 800mbps Unifi.

Just bought Asus USB-AC68 before Unifi speed upgrading news.

Gotta spend cash again. sad.gif

Perhaps you meant this as a harmless joke but if you have the faintest idea of the background that ppl come from, I think it would be best to refrain from comments like that 😐

And from what I've found so far, the TP-Link Archer C7 costs RM 350 leh
*
I know it cost RM350, but that is the least I can recommend for you if you want to have a stable connection. It is highly probable that the problem you are facing is caused by your router, which is the TP-Link C1200 v1. It does cost a bit more if you get your own router, but think of it as long-term investment, if you are using your Internet everyday, it is a VERY good investment as it evens out in the long run.

I see then the deciding factor of wifi speed is not 2x2 itself? I saw the kill ac card in alienware is also 2x2 but can go up 1.6 or 1.7g if I rmb correctly. So if I change to 3x3 router and using the same 2x2 card Will the speed on wifi improve or since my wifi only have 2 antenna the extra 1 is wasted?
*
Could be. It is not waste if you change your router. 2x2 supports up to 867Mbps, but that it in the lab and in real life, with distance/congestion/interference, it won't be the full 867Mbps, as there are overheads to consider. So, you would want something that could go up to more to a maximum of at least 1.3Gbps, which is what you could get with 3x3, so with overheads and the other stuff, hopefully, you will get 800Mbps.

Good choice. TP-Link C3150 v2 is 4x4, so it is more than capable.

nope... my laptop using kill card with 2x2... using iperf to check throughput, only can get up to 400mbps only with around 2ft from router...i am using tenda ac18(3x3 mimo)...

base on your statement, that setting is using with killer LAN network with combine max throughput up to 1.867gbps....

As what has been posted before, you guys just need to wait. They're doing phases by phases and if you received email from them, they said the upgrade is from 15th August. Be patient, we've gone through this with last year promotion and it will be the same this year.

surveying routers around since yesterday until today..

rounded down to these few good ones:
- TP-LINK Deco M5 AC1300 2 pack - RM555
- Mikrotik hAP - RM580
- ASUS RT AC66U - RM 625
- Linksys EA7500 Max-Stream AC1900+ Mu-Mimo Gigabit Wi-Fi Router (EA7500-AH) - RM 699

Anyone used these routers above? can help to do a quick speed test via wifi if you already on 500mbps? not interested with Archer C7 though..

Since Tenda AC18 is AC1900, any wireless that runs on AC1900 should be fine but AC1900 won't be able to run at 800mbps. Maybe just around 500mbps.

rather than AC66U, why not get AC68U instead?
