Speed is capped based on username :-)

Capping at higher speed doesn't mean u can get high speed if ur SNR margin is not good ur connection will be become FAKAP.

However the speed capped higher can make you go beyond ur limit for example jumper speed at 4096 kbps can make you go about 450 kb/sec

And jumper set for 5096 can make your can make your speed go to 550 kb/sec

This also depend on TM.nut network routing

what is the streamyx combo about?
how come streamyx combo 4mbps price is RM160, and standard package is RM265?

What's the difference between combo and standard?

About the speed you getting. It depends on 2 things. First is from your port's speed configuration. This is how the DSLAM allow a single port out with a range of speed. like from the lowest to highest. Second thing, where your username's speed capping. The speed was actually depends on what kind of package you subscribed. Example, 512Kbps,1Mbps,2Mbps and 4Mbps.

Okay, here's the thing. If you manage to request to the Network Dept. for them to help you configure your port's speed into higher than what you subscribed. Eventually you will get speed ahead where fully 100% or 110% faster than your original speed.

Your port configured under 4Mbps. For the physical or real time output, the best you will get is around 80-90% of the port's speed. That's why you get around 3.2-3.5Mbps. But if your port's speed was higher than 4Mbps, like 5Mbps. The output speed, will be around 4-4.5Mbps. But there is a drawback, once your port configured to a higher speed. It will be reduce your line signal too (SNR and Line Att.) It may contribute to unstable connection.
To do that, you need to make sure you have a very strong signal under 4Mbps.

Yes, It will just ended up frequent disconnect and unstable connection. That is why it was not advisable to increase the port's speed, If you are having a normal signal under 4Mbps.

Tips? Minimize the length of the cable between your phone socket and the modem. Splitter do helps a bit of the signal either.

Something is wrong here, youtube latency is very low, suggesting a local server. But i still cannot stream with full speed on it.

My guess is they are setting up a local youtube mirror, but as usual..... Maybe they just need some time in setting it up... (i would like to believe in this)

Can others confirm of the new routing and server? ... hopefully this will be the beginning of a hyper fast streaming system ; )

It's true and so obvious they throttled based on specific time.

But why latency to youtube drop to around 13ms? ...even their DNS sometimes respond slower than that...

Lower latency but throttle users? doesnt make sense... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

EDIT: i take that back , some vids stream at full speed... but some 2 min video need about 10-20 min to load... i think they are having server issues
