3. Singaporeairlines.com
4. Malaysiaairlines.com
5. Airasia.com
6. **Genting.com
7. Ebay.com (via PayPal)

**You will need to register your Public Bank Visa Electron with "Verified by Visa" via Public Bank official website before you can proceed with your booking at Genting.com

So far only Times Bookstore do not accept Public Bank Visa Electron. Most stores in Malaysia do accept though. Such as :

About Public Bank Visa Electron
- **An annual fee of RM24
- Free printed monthly statement send directly to your registered address
- May use PB E-Banking
- Cash Rebate (please refer to Public Bank website)

**This annual fee will be automatically waived if you spend more than RM1001.00 per calendar year.

By the way, other debit cards such as AM Bank NextG, EON Bank Embossed Mastercard, MOL, Tune Visa all DO NOT send out monthly statement. You will have to request for one and they will charge you ! But at Public Bank they will send you a statement every month, absolutely FREE OF CHARGE ! You may also register for Public Bank online banking so that you can view your Visa Electron card details such as balance available and recent transactions made. You also do not need a savings account at Public Bank to open a Visa Electron account. They also do not charge you for everytime you deposit money into your Visa Electron account (blood sucker Tune Visa do) via any Public Bank ATMs or Cash Deposit Machines.

Anyone know if Paypal do not accept the debit card, are there any way to make them accept it?
*
PayPal does accept debit card. Such as Public Bank Visa Electron. Been using PayPal 5-6 times already.

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Mar 16 2008, 03:19 PM)
Is this true? Where you get the info from? I cant seems to find it from PB website.
*
Because i've been using Public Bank Visa Electron for more than a year now. I guarantee to you what i posted is 100% true.

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Mar 16 2008, 10:23 PM)
To PBVE holders, may I know if PBVE is accepted by all petrol stations?

Thanks.
*
Yes, but you should have AT LEAST RM175 in your PB Visa Electron account to do the transaction. The bank will hold RM150 for every petrol transaction regardless of the amount paid. Once they have processed everything they will credit the balance back to your account. You must also always have RM25 reserve in your Public Bank Visa Electron account. So if you account has RM50, you can only use RM25 top !

QUOTE(neoxz @ Mar 19 2008, 09:12 AM)
I wonder if they do charge for the atm card?
*
RM8/annum. This fee cannot be waived.

got question to ask PBVE long time users. I haven't got my PIN no. yet, can I use my card already? planning to transfer funds from my Maybank acc to my card through M2U. Can't wait to buy my stuff from Amazon already. rclxms.gif
*
If i'm not mistaken, i got my Public Bank Visa Electron PIN No just a few days (less than a week) after i received my card at my designated branch. You can start using your PBVE even if you do not have the PIN no. You just need to go to deposit money into your PBVE account via Public Bank cash deposit machine. Then you can make purchase at Amazon.com right away. Make sure you key-in the correct billing address.

By the way, you might also want to register for PBVE online banking so that you can keep track of your spending from time to time. It's a free service.

You just need to go to the customer service counter, fill in some form. Then they will issue you a pin right away. After that you just need to go home and activate it online.

This promotion could be permanent because in Singapore it is permanent, but then that can be due to not many people have cars in Singapore. This promotion was supposed to end on 28 Feb 08. Then it was extended to the end of Apr 08. And now to 30 June 08. We just might see them extending this promotion to August 08 sometime in May.

Actually it is like your ATM card too. And the RM8 charge is the annual fee for your ATM card. Just like any other banks' ATM card.

All Public Bank ATM do support "UnionPay". Besides that, Public Bank ATM also supports MEPS, VISA, VISA Electron, PLUS, Mastercard, Maestro, ATM Bersama (from Indonesia) and NETS (Singapore).

Public Bank ATM card?
Did they rolled out new services for their ATM already?

As far as I know, they were two separate things in the past.  hmm.gif
*
I mean Public Bank Automated Teller Machine (ATM) all support "UnionPay" cards. Not Public Bank ATM card. Public Bank ATM card can only be used at MEPS supported ATM.

QUOTE(Yoshz @ Apr 6 2009, 01:50 PM)
Hi & thanks for the info, by the way only Public Bank ATM support UnionPay? How about other ATM with MEPS tag?
*
You may use your "UnionPay" ATM card at any MEPS supported ATM machine. That means you can use it at most local banking institutions. For example Maybank, CIMB Bank, Public Bank, Hong Leong Bank, RHB, Alliance Bank, EON Bank, Affin Bank and AMBank.

Not sure what do you mean but if your online business transaction involves PayPal. Then Public Bank VISA Electron is the card you must get. The Public Bank VISA Electron can be verified by PayPal and you may also use it to pay and withdraw fund on PayPal.

*
No. It's NOT free. There will be an annual charge of RM8. This account doesn't come with a passbook. A monthly statement will be mailed to you every month but this service will stop once you subscribe to their online statement. They will automatically activate your online banking for you when opening the account and a debit Mastercard will be issued whether you want it or not.

some bank will charge u annual fee when u get ur atm/debit card...
*
Yes. And this is the case with Standard Chartered e$aver debit Mastercard. Because it also acts like your regular ATM card, RM8 will be charged upfront when the card is issued to you. Standard Chartered e$aver offers the best interest rate in Malaysia. It was 2.5% when it was launch in late 2007 but was recently reduced to 1.5% due to the economy downturn and also because the time deposit rate has been cut down quite significantly. Hopefully they will revise the rate back to 2.5% when things are getting better by the late of next year.

Okay, we're heard so much about Maybank VISA debit as well as Public Bank VISA Electron. But how about the newly launched Citibank Citibanking VISA debit and Citigold VISA debit ? Have any of you actually tried to use this to make payment as an alternative to your regular credit card ? Have any of you made an online transaction with this card before successfully ? Looking forward to your feedback guys !
