hi guys, im not sure if this is the right thread, and atm im at work so cant search through the hardware forum if its posted or not...

almost guranteed to happen everyday but very random.

i downloaded ntune and checked the temperature and its a whooping 80-90c idle avg 85 c... wtf? or its normal? im running windows vista ultimate btw... and cstkl1 also mentioned that vista being permanent running on 3d clock... could it be the cause? please help...

that is too hot.. by at least 10 C. my GTX idles at 71-75......... and at about 60 on load. so u must have a ventilation problem in your casing. your crashing problem sound like an overheating gc. just a hunch...... how about opening the side panel and see of the temp goes down. if not maybe ur fan is not working properly. did u set the fan speed to manual? maybe the gc fan was accidently set to slow RPM

just my 2 cents..

btw

as the question goes

how come the 3dmark goes down after OC... should it go up.. ram up the core to 700.........thats a good 100+ mhz faster than stock..

Graphics card no getting enough "juice" I mean voltage. When running 3DMark, is there any freezing or slowdown?

What "juice" mean here i think is da current run in da rail rather than da rail's voltage thought hmm.gif

Just wondering, anyone knows where i can get XFX 8600GTS here in Malaysia and would the ST56F be powerful enough to power up the 8600GTS or maybe the 320MB 8800GTS?

The PSU is even enough to power 8800GTX with your current system spec, no worries. 8600GTS and 8800GTS consume more less power than GTX.

IMO, ST56F will be good smile.gif, either 8600GTS or 8800GTS, even 8800GTX no problem with ST56F icon_idea.gif

Thanks..I was waiting for ATI all these time but was worried about the 8pin connector thingy from PSU and with the price of the 86series seems to be coming down slightly every now and then, i guess maybe its time to give it a try..Preferbly to get the 8600GT/GTS from XFX..

Well, in the other thread, most already confirm running HD2900XT with only 2 x 6 pins PCI-E connectors is possible to overclock, just only Overdrive feature is disabled. Maybe you should wait for awhile, who knows there will be any price drop.

I would not purchase a 8600series unless i could find the XFX or maybe other brand that offers a good price though..For now, i am getting tired of waiting for ATI to at least show us, the consumer, something more of the mid end series..Anything over 1k is totally out of my hands for now. Was eagerly waiting for the 8800 series to drop to about 900..lol..Then i can start to aim for one..
