QUOTE(ianho @ May 16 2007, 03:26 PM) Oblivion pwns current gen cards? Oblivion is peanuts already even on current gen cards. I max out all the gfx options, 2560x1600 resolution n still the most demanding outdoor areas r showing 40-50 FPS which is plenty good. The less demanding areas average 100+ FPS. Oblivion is no big deal for current gen cards. I was speaking in context of the average gaming card, perhaps not so good comparison, just that I love the game and the eye candy but hate the framerates on my rig now...QUOTE(sniper69 @ May 16 2007, 03:38 PM) hy there... i got a Q, this guys who bought my MSI NX8600GTS complains that he can't use the card on his system, he said that his Abit NF-M2S imcompatible with the card, can someone clarify on this? because, AFAIK, there's nothing wrong with motherboard compatiblelity... slot the entire card perfectly into the pcie slot. Man I type too damn slow la, oredi solved... This post has been edited by vey99: May 16 2007, 04:01 PM |

QUOTE(Phoenixwunin @ May 16 2007, 01:03 PM) erm.. guys... i've picked the galaxy 8800gts 320mb oc edition coz it's oredi oced to 550/900 at default... if the price different isn't much then i guess the oced version is a better buy... but if price different is too much different then save ur bucks n buy the normal 8800gts... Wanna some exert advice. Between Galaxy and Gigabyte version of 8800GTS... which one is a better buy?? In your opinion?? QUOTE(cstkl1 @ May 16 2007, 02:35 PM) errr, bro maybe ur specs too high??? hahahahaha... anyway, try the demo link n show off ur result here pls... |

QUOTE(Hyde`fK @ May 16 2007, 11:56 AM) Hard to say, don't even know what PSU he's using. im using Enermax 550 wat PSU. for sure enuff power since the GTX only needs a 450 to run. 2 hardisk .. i donthink i'm even sweating the PSU as it is. there is no slowdown during gaming or running futuremark. its really weird coz i lost a good 1000 mark everytime i OC this suckerThe PSU is even enough to power 8800GTX with your current system spec, no worries. 8600GTS and 8800GTS consume more less power than GTX. |

My aim with the new hardware is a 24/7 rig that runs on this x6800 @ 3.73ghz asus 8800gtx ultra @ 650/2260 rams at 1200 CL4 |

Guys, anyone of you bought the Galaxy 8600GTS?Do you know what cooler it is using?I saw some review stating that it is using the Zalman VF900 cooler but from their website, it doesnt looks like it. More to me like a Zerotherm GX810..
![]() Source : http://www.galaxytech.com/product_details.asp?id=132 Anyway, i know Galaxy always make mistake in their website. They even state that the 8600GTS is running on 320bit GeForce 8600GTS GeForce 8600GTS DDR3 320bit __________________________________________________________________ EDITED: I even saw 8500GE at this website. Is this true or a typo?Or the GE is actually the DDR3 version of the GT? http://it-review.net/index.php?option=com_...1271&Itemid=105 Ouch, things is getting crazier.I even saw a new 8600GE by Galaxy that matches the performance of the 8600GTS.The benchmark they made shows that the 8600GT/GE had beaten the GTS in some way..Is this even real..Man, i should wait and see whats next.. http://www.gfe.com.hk/news_details.asp?id=135 This post has been edited by akachester: May 16 2007, 05:08 PM |

From the benchmarks I've seen, the 8500GE is just awesome for such a dirt cheap card. ![]() Source : http://www.galaxytech.com/product_details.asp?id=132 Anyway, i know Galaxy always make mistake in their website. But which cooler is that?Cause the design doesnt seem to be the VF900.After looking it for long, it doesnt seem to be Zerotherm as well cause it only have 1 heatpipe which zerotherm have 2..Yea, the 8500GE does seem to be something good.lol.Any difference between the GT and GE?.But i was only surprised at the benchmark done by Galaxy which state that the 8600GT/GE beat the 8600GTS.. Ok guys, i need some clear up in my mind right now..
Been thinking of these for while and hopefully you guys can help me out here.. I have a confusion in term of the usage of bits on a GC. When comparison is being done between the 6800 and the 7600, people are saying that the 7600 will be better even though the 6800 have more muscle and higher bit (256bit VS 128bit). I understand that it is due to newer technology that compensate the lost in bits, making the 7600 a better card.. Mystery solved there. However, doesnt this implies on the 8series as well? Many people here have said that they are disappointed in having only 128bit on the 8600 series (including myself for no reason) and resolve in buying the 7900GS just for the sake of some proven performance and a higher bit (again, 128bit VS 256bit). Wouldnt a newer technology in the 8series compensate in the lost of bits, and making the 8600 a better card? |

QUOTE(akachester @ May 16 2007, 07:15 PM) Ok guys, i need some clear up in my mind right now.. Those card with lower memory bit like 7600GT with 128bit, can beat previous 6800, that because 7600GT has high core and memory compare to 6800, thus giving 7600GT more memory bandwidth compared to the bandwidth of 6800. Memory bandwidth is what matters most.Been thinking of these for while and hopefully you guys can help me out here.. I have a confusion in term of the usage of bits on a GC.
