QUOTE(slash @ Aug 10 2007, 09:02 AM) depends on the user. u have to see it in their context. those with sidepanel fans, stock for them would mean just plugging the card in, closing the panel, and getting the readings. anyway shawty already listed out how he ran the card, and i listed my temps in comparison with his. So TomatomanzSeedlezz can just read and interpret the results accordingly. He said he's in the market for a card for his bro, and shawty is just trumpeting (albeit loudly) the pros of the colorful UE, which is kinda true and is a star buy for anyone looking for a midrange card. Which is why i said it really depends on how that particular person interprets what "stock" means..Anyway, 50c+ is indeed a nice temperature.Anyway, i am just helping to clarify the matter here. No harm done right..LOL.. About the trumpeting stuff, well, i am not going to go into that matter cause AFAIK, IF the GC is good, everyone would know even though no one is promoting it. Good stuff will be known all around and people here could judge wisely..For eg, even i am one that doesnt really support Colorful products are saying that the UE is good. WHY!?
It looks very fine when i played Lost Planet: Extreme Condition using DX9 WinXP(sp2) with maxed details.. but when i play it using DX10 Vista(x64) with the same setting... I CANT BELIEVE IT!!! I'm facing movement delay with a bit slow motion in the game.. Could it be DX10 problem or IT IS really my PC cant handle the graphic details.. !? |

but will the 8600 UE to outperform 7900GS/X1950Pro in most dx9 games? Thats the thing i want to know the most, although 3dmarks score is favor to 8600, but that doesn't mean its superior than 7900s in gaming
as for dx10 games, heck everything is so speculated |

For sure total lost to Shawty's mark coz u use AMD X2. If u used c2d @ 3.8 GHz u will get similar score to him.

@slash
run 05 la... 06 is CPU dependant. 05 is a better judge for the GC as the CPU doesnt affect the scores as much as 06. |

QUOTE(LExus65 @ Aug 10 2007, 08:31 AM) 3dmark 05 and 06 are not that CPU dependent if not mistaken, but it's agood score there............. btw shawty have u tested it on games yet ?? FPS is much more convincing ............ bro,btw uncle ho, no offense...... not all 8600GT can mod with extra PCI power input i guess, especially like this colourful 1 using there own PCB, lots of component are missing for the extra power input 05 is not cpu dependent... but 06 is cpu dependent... some ppl even say 07 is favour quad core somemore what i would say 05 is best benchmark to compare |

I would like to ask, is there an 8600 GTS graphics card that has more than 256Mb DDR3 memory, such as 320Mb ? Also, which brand assures top performance (Googling around, its hard to make a solid comparison), XFX, MSI, Asus, Galaxy ? I am seriously thinking of purchasing an 8600 GTS GPU for my Pentium D 3.2GHz machine with 2Gb memory.

I heard XFX's line of 8600 GTS offer exceptional performance at a slightly higher price. |

erm, if you thinking of getting the 8600gts but with more MB, i suggest better get the cheapest 8800gts.. you'll get a super high performance difference, rather than getting a 512mb 8600gts..
in case you don't know, the MB only helps you by utilising bigger resolution.. if your monitor is less than 20 inch, 256MB is more than enough.... |
