Good Cooler, Full Solid Caps etc etc etc... stock clocks are really good...can even beat GTS if OC just a little bit more.
but...not sure of gaming performance though...i only bought it to use with my HTPC

IMHO the best 8600GT to get right now is definitely the Colorful 8600GT Ultra Edition.

QUOTE [08/07/2007] My graphics card has a abnormal high temperature on loading (90`C) even i use a table fan to blow over it. Would changing the thermal paste void the warranty? Thanks... Above is the respond by XFXForce technician, it seems like changing the Thermal Paste won't void the warranty [JAMES - 08/09/2007] Hi, thanks for your message and sorry to hear you are experiencing these problems. your warranty will be ok as long as the card is as it was when you got if you ever have to send it back. adding more paste is ok but nothing else. kind regards. james |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Aug 8 2007, 01:36 AM) Did i say i'm an elite? Well, im asking because i was thinking getting it for my brother, and you are the one selling it here, not to mention, you keep saying how good they are..I said most elite users would do that. Slash did that, and some of my customers who just received their graphic card do that too. They didn't call that "A MOD" U said earlier that i said "i didn't do any mod". I asked you, when did i say i didn't do any mod? I said "i didn't do any VMOD". Owh wait, let me bold it up incase you didn't see it clearly. "I Didn't Do Any VMOD". Clarify that. Since some sidepanels by default has fan, so i am using that "default". All my casing has sidepanel fan, i am using that logic, is that wrong? That's not a so called "MOD". That's what we call as using the same principal as using casing. FYI, my pc run on naked, no casing, since i'm going to use the same principal, i put a fan on top of it. That's "NOT MOD". Replacing thermal paste called mod? I LOL'ed. Kid, i did admit my mistake for running the 3dmark06 on 1024 before right? Do look around for some previous post of mine. What are you here for? Are you here just looking for my mistakes? Rather than doing this, GET A LIFE!!! I Lol'ed at you for being here just to find my mistakes. Whatever craphead, you wanna go around find my mistakes again, go ahead, there's no use to talk with someone whose just looking for someone else mistakes. That's a child's attitude. Ohh, i know you will reply this, and the next reply will state some more of my "mistakes" that you found. Ohh, i know you do, i know you want to. Go ahead, let see what other mistakes of mine that you can find. Once you've find it, post it here to show others all my mistakes. Wait, i forgot to explain to you about one thing. I said "51degrees with only stock HSF" Find a post where i said i leave everything in stock. I really think you should learn english back. My english are bad, but at least i can still understand what people post and not misunderstanding them. Capische? So, before getting it, of course i wanna find out more abt it, so why can't i ask the questions refering to yer card, considering ur selling it. Like when u said "stock" and u gotten 51'c, ppl will think thats normal temp. but its actually u put additional fan on top of the card. And abt the 3Dmark06, weird that u didnt use its default settings. Sorry to say this, but that sounds like yer trying to "sell" yer card a little too "hard". And ,don't u guys think that sHawTY 'bragging' abt his card a little too much?.. |

And how many times do i have to repeat about the sidepanel fan thingie? Do you have a problem reading english boy? Well well well, you seem like won't stop telling others about my 3DMark06 mistake ehh? What are you? I already admit my 3DMark06 mistake, what else you want me to say? And i was right about you will reply my last post. Hey, i have a new nickname for ya, 3DMark06 Boy. Yeah, that's good for you. I have an idea, why don't you put my 3DMark06 mistake in yer signature? That'll show all forumers about my mistake. Me bragging? Yes i am, go find an 8600GT that can fight with the Colorful 8600GT Ultra Edition, find one that can fight with it using only stock heatsink, if you can, i'll give you 10 units of Colorful 8600GT Ultra Edition. Fight with me on your 8600GT one to one in my room, see either you can proof me just bragging without proof. I have the rights the brag about it, why? Because it's the best Nvidia 8600GT Card that you can find in "Malaysian" market. I know you may reply this post again, and i'm waiting for it. Let's see what else you've got to say. |

Make so much fuss for wat? Take all the models of 8600GT in Malaysian market and compare with Colorful 8600GT UE, just by comparing the specs you will know that Colorful wins. Plus its stock heatsink is so much better.
The reason why I chose UE is cause it has the power connector. With that sure can overclock more than the OC version. Pricewise although over my budget abit, I still went ahead and bought the card. Almost GTS performance at a cheaper price. Though I have no 120mm fan blowing at the card, my idle temps are 46 and looping 3Dmark06 gets me 60. Since you're such a stickler for details, 1) I applied mx-2, 2)sidepanel open, 3)92mm exhaust fan This post has been edited by slash: Aug 9 2007, 10:14 PM |

back in may i bought the galaxy OC ed. at rm530 then sell it at rm 430 in june now the new one merely sold from rm460 but one thing is unfair now, why 8600 GTS and above don;t suffer from major price drop ? 8800GTS still rm1k + |

lloking at shawty benchmark, the 3dmark06 point is just 2k behind my 8800gts..
i believe shawty proc contribute certain point to pull to score higher... i not very sure whether the cpu bottleneck my 8800gts point or not |

3dmark 05 and 06 are not that CPU dependent if not mistaken, but it's agood score there............. btw shawty have u tested it on games yet ?? FPS is much more convincing ............
btw uncle ho, no offense...... not all 8600GT can mod with extra PCI power input i guess, especially like this colourful 1 using there own PCB, lots of component are missing for the extra power input |

Take all the models of 8600GT in Malaysian market and compare with Colorful 8600GT UE, just by comparing the specs you will know that Colorful wins. Plus its stock heatsink is so much better. Not meant to make a fuss here but i do agree to some extent that "stock" temperature do mean without any other interference such as side panel fan etc. Thats my definition though. However, i do understand that side panel fan are very common nowadays and it might be considered as stock as well. So, i guess it depends on how you take the assumption though...The reason why I chose UE is cause it has the power connector. With that sure can overclock more than the OC version. Pricewise although over my budget abit, I still went ahead and bought the card. Almost GTS performance at a cheaper price. First of all, they are both having different clock speed. Next, one is having power connector while the other does not. Maybe IF by any chance, someone could obtain the Galaxy 8600GE (which is the same as the UE), then we can make sure that the UE is a good card or not. Thats my preferences though.. Price wise, without a doubt price/performance ratio goes to 8600GT UE as off now... |

depends on the user. u have to see it in their context. those with sidepanel fans, stock for them would mean just plugging the card in, closing the panel, and getting the readings. anyway shawty already listed out how he ran the card, and i listed my temps in comparison with his. So TomatomanzSeedlezz can just read and interpret the results accordingly. He said he's in the market for a card for his bro, and shawty is just trumpeting (albeit loudly) the pros of the colorful UE, which is kinda true and is a star buy for anyone looking for a midrange card.
