never heard of 512mb one.How much would it be for a new card price?

I noticed you are using XFX 8600 GT, how good is it? I mean, in terms of what you actually expected out of it?

erm, if you thinking of getting the 8600gts but with more MB, i suggest better get the cheapest 8800gts.. you'll get a super high performance difference, rather than getting a 512mb 8600gts..

in case you don't know, the MB only helps you by utilising bigger resolution.. if your monitor is less than 20 inch, 256MB is more than enough....
*
Unfortunately, spending RM1k + for a GPU is something I wouldn't do. I know the performance gap is huge and will make a world of difference, but still, it comes down to affordability. After all, my display supports upto 1280x1024 resolution and its 19". If only the 8800 GTS are less than RM1k (+-RM900??)

The reviewer gave it a 9.5/10. It's just one review though.

Those "americans" hates asian ler, they won't bother reviewing a china based product that is made in asia and has an asian name on it. laugh.gif

Even if they do review, they will make it look like it's not worth buying at all. laugh.gif

if its like what u said then almost all GC board makers are asia based, MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Galaxy and Palit all started in Asia. And all of them made in china sweat.gif
its just Colorful is special, it's the only one board maker based in China, the rest are either HK or Taiwan

Yes, but the thing is, Colorful keeps it's chinese word on their products, so it shows the true "asian" flag on each of their products, thus, they are being hated more than the others.

Computer War Sdn. Bhd. (PJ) is selling MSI T2D320E for just over RM1k. It's 320Mb 8800 GTS. It's also very OC. But still, its over RM1k. I just hope the price will drop with news of upcoming 8900 GTX and/or (questionable) 9800 GTX. Right now I have the 8600 series in my mind.

Does the 8800 still stutter?

I'm not convinced with nVidia's explanation that it's a "driver problem" (It's not on 8600-8400 cards)

I'm a bit convinced by the price (RM1000 for a 320MB), but if they still lag like hell (Will be using Vista only) I won't budge.

It is a very good card, no doubt about it. There is nothing wrong for him to brag about it.  Even if it's too much for some of us, you cannot do anything about it since its never void any R&R at the moment.

Yea, i didnt said its wrong abt bragging it, but give some credit for those juz bought their 8600GT cards (other than Colorful brand) mah.. if u know what i mean.. wink.gif

Buying for your brother? laugh.gif

I said stock heatsink, what part of nay doesn't thou understand?
And how many times do i have to repeat about the sidepanel fan thingie?

Do you have a problem reading english boy?

Well well well, you seem like won't stop telling others about my 3DMark06 mistake ehh?
What are you?

I already admit my 3DMark06 mistake, what else you want me to say?
And i was right about you will reply my last post.

Hey, i have a new nickname for ya, 3DMark06 Boy.
Yeah, that's good for you.

I have an idea, why don't you put my 3DMark06 mistake in yer signature?
That'll show all forumers about my mistake.

Me bragging?
Yes i am, go find an 8600GT that can fight with the Colorful 8600GT Ultra Edition, find one that can fight with it using only stock heatsink, if you can, i'll give you 10 units of Colorful 8600GT Ultra Edition.

Fight with me on your 8600GT one to one in my room, see either you can proof me just bragging without proof. smile.gif
I have the rights the brag about it, why?
Because it's the best Nvidia 8600GT Card that you can find in "Malaysian" market.

I know you may reply this post again, and i'm waiting for it.
Let's see what else you've got to say. smile.gif
*
sHawTY, u don't seem to understand my replies to u. Im giving u my reasons behind my questions to u, wherelse u keep repeating the same questions\replies over and over again...

And yes, everyone have bragging rights, im juz thinking for those who juz gotten they newly bought 8600GT and feel bad abt it. Or shld i say... "modesty its the best policy".. sorry to say that... i don't see that in you.

Btw, whats up with the calling "names"?..

QUOTE(slash @ Aug 9 2007, 10:11 PM)
Make so much fuss for wat? Take all the models of 8600GT in Malaysian market and compare with Colorful 8600GT UE, just by comparing the specs you will know that Colorful wins. Plus its stock heatsink is so much better.
The reason why I chose UE is cause it has the power connector. With that sure can overclock more than the OC version. Pricewise although over my budget abit, I still went ahead and bought the card. Almost GTS performance at a cheaper price.

Though I have no 120mm fan blowing at the card, my idle temps are 46 and looping 3Dmark06 gets me 60.
Since you're such a stickler for details, 1) I applied mx-2, 2)sidepanel open, 3)92mm exhaust fan
*
Tbh, i wont ask him so much, if hes not selling it, as i mentioned earlier.

Imagine like noobs like me, after hearing saying 51'c [stock], then a customer bought it from sHawTY.. seeing his temp. nuthin near 51'c.. then later only ask "why like tat ah?"... and yet he mentioned [no air-con] so i assume he meant no additional cooling.

@akachester : Thx for understanding, i don't understand why he can't juz say/reply me from the start like.. "Yeah, abt the 51'c temp. its actually i added 120mm on top of my card and applied MX-1, so u might getting higher temp. without additional cooling".. or something like that..

Cheers smile.gif

Please advise.

If your case has adequate airflow, stock temps wont go above 51, IMO. Look at the insides of my casing. Only when I orthos does the idle temp rise to 50 (cpu@65 !!). Else when doing nothing the idle temps are 46. This card is really worth it. Just register a new account then join the bulk. *hint hint* tongue.gif

Colorful 8600GT OC doesn't use any extra power plug, so u can use those normal PSU to power it up.
Unlike 8600GT UE, it needs an extra 6Pin PCI-e molex.

So basically, any chapalang psu should be enough to power up the 8600GT OC. smile.gif

@TomatomanzSeedlezz
I have answered all your question, but you're the one who keep repeating the same question again and again, i advise you to read properly all my post, if you can't understand it, learn english back, i have no intention to argue with you, but for you to repeat the same question again & again, it's just pure annoying.

Look at slash's post, he's not using any extra fan "on top" of his 8600GT UE, but he still manage to get 51degrees the maximum.

I have no intention to argue with you, whatever you post after this will just show how childish of you for repeating the same question and again but not trying to understand my post properly.

This is where i will stop talking to you, if i see any of your post again trying to start back the argument, i will report your post immidieately.
Nuff said.

my 8600GT UE when 1st install, off aircon, fully stock, no thermal paste, no side panel fan. only casing front 2x 8mm fan, rear 4x 8mm fan.
idle 55* , load 72*
feel surpise and thought something goes wrong with my card when compare with u guys temp.
but after reading carefully only know u guys put thermal paste + 120mm fan
so...must read carefully ppl's post...

managed to test with my amd 3000+ 2400mhz rig, this rig is for working purpose so alot bloatware but after overclock the graphic card still manage to get 3dmark05 10227, 3dmark06 4626.
not yet test on e6600 .
for this price, grab it if u looking for 8600 series card... rclxms.gif thumbup.gif
